Website of various Nevada geothermal resource information, which contains 227 geothermal site descriptions and related digital maps, photographs, and information sources. Geothermal Resources of Nevada Two NBMG geologists spend part of their time keeping up this database. Aside from the list of 227 geothermal sites which are linked to site descriptions and maps, the website also contains an interactive map based on NBMG Map 141, "Nevada Geothermal Resources," which shows locations of all significant occurrences of geothermal water in Nevada of which more than 300 are linked to site descriptions and/or databases accessed by mouse clicks; links to the files used to create the interactive map; a list linked to 82 large-scale...
This collection includes depth-to-water measurements for Kansas aquifers, primarily the High Plains aquifer. The groundwater level measurement data are available in the WIZARD Water Well Levels Database.

Poorly-labeled boxes of rock, sediment, and fossil specimens collected by individual workers at different times. Also, numerous samples of Cenozoic volcanic ashes that may be of unrealized future value as a reference collection. Hand specimens exist in our collections, but they are completely uncataloged and are improperly stored. This collection may be discarded as additional space restrictions are imposed.

This is a vast collection that includes: paper maps, PDF maps, DataMIL online map lab (serves framework map layers for state of Delaware). There are approximately 1,680,000 online maps, 500 paper maps. Some of this collection has not yet been inventoried and cataloged. Please contact the Delaware Geological Survey to inquire about this collection.
Collection of well logs has been acquired over time from project materials, and includes donations from various companies as well as duplicate logs from the Department of Natural Resources. Significant numbers of water well logs are included in the collection (approximately 20% of the collection). This collection is not yet inventoried. Please contact the Louisiana Geological Survey to discuss access to the collection.
A collection of well cuttings from the State of Indiana with a few from surrounding states. The well cuttings are filed in small envelopes identified with pertinent information and are stored in boxes in the basement of the Indiana Geological Survey. Each box has a file number which links it to other types of information. In addition to the archived cuttings, 80% of the cuttings are mounted on lithologic strip logs. The cuttings are glued on the strip log according to their correct depth. This gives the user the option to look at either the strip log or the actual well cuttings. There are 13,455 archived wells in the Indiana Geological Survey rock cuttings collection. This collection takes up approximately 15,000...
Beginning August 1989, a triggered digital recording system was implemented that captured data for larger events but did not provide continuous digital recording. From August 1999 through July 2000, paper seismograms were the only source of continuous seismic data for Montana¿s Regional Seismic Network. This network includes data from 35 recording stations operated by the MBMG as well as data from 7 USGS stations located in Montana and operated cooperatively with the MBMG. Continuous digital data recorded since August 15, 2001 is archived at the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) Data Management Center using a SEED data format. Daily electronic seismograms may be accessed by the general public...
Catalog of geologic digital images including outcrops, landscape scenes, specimens, diagrams, and cross sections
field notes taken by Survey coal geologists. The collection is limited to work done by the Survey's coal section. Other sections data are less well curated, if at all. Books are 100 pages long with hard, black covers. This collection dates from the early 1970s. There are other collections of older field books of dubious value. field books describing surface exposures within West Virginia
Paper files delivered with core material. Includes notes, maps, reports, lithologic or geophysocal logs, and general correspondence concerning core sample and site location. Variety of log types accompanying drilling records of core material Currently developing a preliminary database of this material to supplement the inventory.
Crystalline rock cores from the Piedmont of South Carolina. Crystalline rock cores We perform duties, as required, to maintain a statewide core repository. Although facilities are currently inadequate, we are still accepting new material, reluctanltly. We do what we can with what we have.
This collection contains samples primarily from outcrops, quarries, road cuts, shallow Quaternary and soils borings. The unit of measure is 3" Core boxes (3 1/2" x 18" x 24").
Collection includes aerial photographs used for geologic and geotechnical projects.
The Mineral Museum collection is estimated to contain over 15,000 fine mineral specimens from throughout the world, of which over 1,300 are on display. The collection is protected by an electronic security system. Stored specimens are catalogued (in hardcopy format and on an Excel spreadsheet)using the Hey system and maintained in a secure specimen storage room. Donated specimens are reviewed by the museum curator (a senior MBMG geologist) and accessioned as appropriate. The collection is supported primarily by Bureau funding. Fine mineral specimensIf resources were to become available (funding and staffing), it would be desirable to: 1. the completion of an updated and accurate inventory of specimens in an electronic...
