A previously developed three-dimensional groundwater-flow model that used the MODFLOW-NWT code was updated to simulate the effects of various proposed drainage modifications aimed at reducing discharge to a sanitary sewer system near Long Lake in Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, near Gary, Indiana. Note: this data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. The various post-fire data products available on the Burn Severity Portal are produced using satellite imagery. The timing of the satellite imagery used, relative to the fire event, typically depends on the vegetation type and structure where the fire occurred. Each mapping program produces a suite of data products based on user intended user needs. You can find additional details in each of the available areas.
The California Invasive Plant Council (Cal-IPC) developed a “risk mapping” approach that combines comprehensive distribution maps with maps of current and future suitable range to show where each (invasive) species is likely to spread. The distribution maps are based on a new dataset created through a major campaign to collect expert opinion data from local resource managers across the state. From this dataset, Cal-IPC recently completed risk maps and management recommendations for 43 invasive plant species in the Sierra Nevada. A three dimensional groundwater flow model (MODFLOW-NWT) was developed to examine the effects of changes to engineering controls and Lake Michigan surface water levels on the distribution of ponded water near Long Lake in Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, near Gary, Indiana. The steady state model was calibrated to relatively low groundwater level condition of October 2002 and a relatively high groundwater level condition of March 2011.
