These data tables contain data collections from field experiments of Phragmites australis (ssp. australis) treated with known fungal endophytes. Tiller counts, tiller diameter, and tiller height measurements were taken every two weeks over an eight-week study period. Clones of Phragmites plants were collected from three different locations: Sandusky, Michigan; Bloomington, Indiana; and the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge near Oak Harbor, Ohio. Additionally, data collections from a similar experiment of Phragmites australis (ssp. australis) treated with known fungal endophytes performed in a growth chamber are included. Tiller numbers and tiller heights were measured every three weeks over 15 total weeks for the...

The color infrared aerial imagery contained in this mosaic was collected on July 17, 2014 with an Applanix 439 Digital Sensor System. The mission was flown at ~4,000 ft. above ground level resulting in a ground sample distance of 0.20 meters (8")/pixel. The area of interest is the Crane Creek estuary in the Ottawa NWR and the mosaic is for the purpose of habitat monitoring.

The data set includes quantitative fish abundance counts estimated from video data files collected by a Dual-frequency IDentification SONar (DIDSON) placed at the junction of a water control structure located between Pool 2B and Crane Creek (41.62133N, -83.20769W) within Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge (Lucas County, Ohio). One-hour-long video data files were used to estimate fish activity in a restored coastal wetland within Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in the Western Basin of Lake Erie. Over 800 video hours of fish movement were recorded at the fully open fish passage structure; 136 video data files were chosen at random to represent the full video data file set and are available upon request. Fish counts from...

The true color aerial imagery contained in this mosaic was collected on July 17, 2014 with an Applanix 439 Digital Sensor System. The mission was flown at ~3,000 ft. above ground level resulting in a ground sample distance of 0.15 meters (6")/pixel. This true color mosaic was intended to complement the color infrared image classification by providing an additional image format to consider. A flight plan was not used and this resulted in incomplete coverage. The area of interest is the Crane Creek estuary in the Ottawa NWR and the mosaic is for the purpose of habitat monitoring.

This tabular data set contains estimates of total phosphorus concentration and mass, as well as measurements of water discharge and volume at a diked wetland pool (Pool 2B) that was reconnected to a Lake Erie tributary (Crane Creek) via a water control structure in March 2011. Sampling occurred during 2013 and 2014. In addition, this data set contains evaluations of movement of total phosphorus and water through the reconnecting structure, frequency of changes in flow direction through the reconnecting structure, and dissolved oxygen measurements in the reconnected wetland pool.
Crane Creek is a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative-funded coastal wetland restoration project that seeks to reconnect the diked coastal marsh to Crane Creek and improve water quality and fish habitat. Vegetation sampling data and previously completed vegetation maps exist for this study area and will be used to assist in the interpretation of the 2014 imagery.
