This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over the Medicine Bow Mountains in southern Wyoming. The airborne survey was jointly funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative and the Wyoming State Geological Survey (WSGS). The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and characterization of mineral resource potential. A total of 16,400 line km of magnetic and radiometric data were acquired over an irregular-shaped area of 2710 km2. Data were collected from a helicopter flown at a nominal terrain clearance of 80 meters (m) above topography along N-S flight lines spaced at 200 m intervals. The line spacing...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides a digital geospatial database for the geologic map of Precambrian metasedimentary rocks of the Medicine Bow Mountains, Albany and Carbon Counties, Wyoming (Houston and Karlstrom, 1992). Attribute tables and geospatial features (points, lines and polygons) conform to the Geologic Map Schema (GeMS, 2020) and represent the geologic map plates as published at a scale of 1:50,000. The 358,697-acre map area includes the geologically complex Medicine Bow Mountains located 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Laramie in southeastern Wyoming. The objectives of this work were to map the distribution of the 2 most important habitat associations to moose in the Southern Rockies in order to develop predictive seasonal habitat models. Two seperate datasets were the result of this work, including Deciduous forest and riparian shrublands (Riparian Areas for Moose Winter Habitat Selection, Medicine Bow National Forest, Wyoming).
