This dataset shows historic change agents and recent disturbances that have affected this vegetation community. We analyzed these factors within the historic distribution of this vegetation community (derived from the LANDFIRE BpS v1.0 dataset). We chose historic distribution over existing distribution of these communities for this analysis for 2 reasons: 1) many significant change agents have caused this vegetation community to be converted to a different land cover type in a near permanent fashion; this includes anthropogenic factors such as development and agriculture. Such areas would simply show as developed or agriculture in an existing vegetation map. In order to perform this analysis using existing vegetation,...

The Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination Group, or GeoMAC, is an internet-based mapping tool originally designed for fire managers to access online maps of current wildland fire locations and perimeters in the continental United States, including Alaska. Perimeters are submitted to GeoMAC by the incidents via posting to FTP and web sites for downloading. This file contains wildland fire perimeters submitted to GeoMAC from the year 2000 to the calendar year preceeding the current one. The projection is geographic and the datum is NAD83. Last updated January 20, 2011, SPW. Additional metadata available at: http://rmgsc.cr.usgs.gov/outgoing/GeoMAC/historic_fire_data/us_hist_fire_perimeters_dd83_METADATA.htm

Vector datasets of CWHR range maps are one component of California Wildlife Habitat Relationships (CWHR), a comprehensive information system and predictive model for California's wildlife. The CWHR System was developed to support habitat conservation and management, land use planning, impact assessment, education, and research involving terrestrial vertebrates in California. CWHR contains information on life history, management status, geographic distribution, and habitat relationships for 692 species of amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals known to occur regularly in the state. Range maps represent the maximum, current geographic extent of each species within California. They were originally delineated at a...

Climate data (Standard Deviation of Average Annual Temperature for 1968-1999) were created by PRISM (Parameter-elevation Regressions on Indepenent Slopes Model - prism.oregonstate.edu) on a 2.5 arc-minute lat-lon grid. They are based on historical observations from 1968-1999. We created mean monthly climatologies for that period from the PRISM data, and reprojected the results to the BLM Albers 4km grid. We used these results as a historical baseline climate to de-bias RegCM3 projections. We also compiled annual and seasonal summaries of precipitation and temperature from the PRISM data to allow for simple comparisons with other climatologies. Units are degrees celsius.

This data set represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. The data has been converted from source documents to digital form and transferred into a GIS format that is compliant with FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standards and Guidelines for publication. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. This data set includes the following: PLSS Fully...

Proposed and existing solar and wind project site data; obtained from various BLM field offices or from other sources. Data is catagorized as "preliminary" due to not being constructed at the BLM CA State Office- since the official legal descriptions and maps for the project were not made available. However, these data for the projects in the "preliminary" feature class are being recognized as "current legal boundary data" for these projects, and should be used in the same degree as the project data in the "Verified" feature class.

This shapefile shows alternatives B through D for the management of the Pronghorn in a Wildlife Management Area, one component of Biological Resources Management. From the alternatives, one set will be selected to be proposed as the geographic area to which particular management actions will be applied, to manage the resource upon adoption of the Resource Management Plan (RMP). This shapefile contains RMP Alternatives for the Agua Fria National Monument. Overall, the RMP Alternatives comprise Alternative A, also known as the no-action or current management alternative, and four action alternatives: Alternative B, which plans for increased public use while ensuring resource protection; Alternative C, which provides...

This dataset presents summaries of conservation elements by reporting unit (4KM) to fulfill the BLM requirement of ecological integrity (Note: species richness measures are not a measure of ecological integrity, which is a far more complex measure). This dataset shows counts of aquatic species, terrestrial species, ecosystems, and terrestrial species groups by reporting unit, as well as higher-level summaries. This dataset was intersected with current and near-term terrestrial intactness, and long-term potential for energy develoment and climate change, to provide measures of the condition of each reporting unit. This dataset was not intersected with the NatureServe Species Summary dataset, which is only available...

This dataset was created by CBI on 12/20/2011 from a tabular well location database at: http://www.conservation.ca.gov/dog/geothermal/maps/Pages/index.aspx No metadata were available; CBI pulled selected information from the above website to create this metadata record. Digital well locations for wells are available in a database file that contains the latitude and longitude for each geothermal well in the state. The database file can be downloaded as a statewide file (with approximately 3500 wells listed).

Difference of Average Annual Temperature (2045-2060 vs 1968-1999) simulated by RegCM3 with ECHAM5 projections as boundary conditions. Units are degrees Celsius. These data were generated by the regional climate model RegCM3 with boundary conditions from a GCM future climate projections. The data were downscaled statistically by calculating differences (anomalies) between the RegCM3 results with GCM-driven boundary conditions for 1968-99 and those for a future period, in this case 2015-2030. The anomalies were added (temperatures) or multiplied (precipitation) to a climate baseline from PRISM (Parameter-elevation Regressions on Indepenent Slopes Model - prism.oregonstate.edu) data based on historical observations....

This dataset provides an estimate of current and near-term aquatic intactness, and long-term potential for change. These measures of status and potential for change have been combined into this dataset for convenience in evaluating the status of each aquatic conservation element. They also provide an integrated means of investigating the change in intactness over time.

This dataset presents summaries of the minimum and maximum discharge at gaging stations on the Colorado River and tributaries. Data were collected from USGS for each gaging station, and summarized into seasonal averages. The averages are for the period of record of each gage up to 9/30/2010; the period of record varies widely across the gaging stations. Data were summarized in the associated spreadsheet: Vector\Attributes\Aquatic\Documentation\SOD_selected_gaging_station_data.xlsx for each gaging station. The average minima and maxima values were attached to a copy of the gaging stations point dataset to create this dataset.

This dataset presents the conservation element summary dataset for all areas within the ecoregion that are not covered by urban areas or special designations. The objective of this dataset is to highlight ecologically important areas (in the context of conservation elements identified for this REA) that are not protected by existing special designations. See ecological integrity dataset for additional details.
