Mineral-resources personnel from the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) carried out a geological field survey, including mapping and sampling in the Chistochina mining district in the Mount Hayes A-2 and A-3 quadrangles, Alaska, from June 30 to July 15, 2009. The fieldwork provides basic information critical to building an understanding of Alaska's geology and is part of an integrated program of airborne geophysical surveys followed by geological mapping. During 2009, 57 rock samples were collected for geochemical trace-element analysis, 107 rock samples were collected for whole rock (major- and minor-oxide and petrogenetically important trace elements) analyses, and 2 samples were collected...

The geochemical analyses in this report result from the reanalysis of 932 archived stream-sediment pulps from the northern Fairbanks D-1, northern Fairbanks D-2, Fairbanks D-3 and southern Livengood A-1 and A-2 Quadrangles. The original geochemical data set included 1013 stream-sediment samples, (Albanese, 1982a-c).

Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) personnel collected rock samples while mapping the bedrock geology along a 12-mile-wide swath following the Alaska Highway between Delta Junction and the eastern edge of the Mount Hayes quadrangle near Dot Lake, Alaska. This mapping is one component of the multi-year DGGS project studying the geology, geohazards and resources along the proposed gas pipeline corridor from Delta Junction to the Canadian border. In 2006, we collected 10 samples for whole rock (major- and minor-oxides, and petrogenetically important trace-elements) analysis. In 2007, we collected 111 samples for whole rock analysis and 36 rock samples for geochemical trace-element analysis....

Mineral-resources personnel from the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys carried out a geologic field survey, including mapping and sampling in the Moran area in the Tanana A-6 and B-6 quadrangles, and the Melozitna A-1, A2, B-1, and B-2 quadrangles, Alaska from June 17 to August 15, 2011. The fieldwork provides basic information critical to building an understanding of Alaska geology and is part of an integrated program of airborne geophysical surveys followed by geologic mapping. During 2011, 212 rock samples were collected for geochemical trace-element analysis, 58 rock samples were collected for whole-rock (major- and minor-oxide and petrogenetically important trace elements tables) analyses,...

This application allows users to view available geochemical data in a fully documented HTML table format. Users define the suite of sample analyses to be displayed by selecting sample and analysis types and either a geographic area or a previously compiled dataset. The data is stored in the DGGS Geologic and Earth Resource Information Library of Alaska (GERILA) digital database. The display tables are designed to provide documentation of the search criteria, samples, analyses, and individual geochemical determinations to the level reflected in their source publications or in project files to the best of DGGS staff's ability. The source GERILA dataset is incomplete and is added to as more data can be formatted and...

A pilot study using discriminant analysis on major oxide and minor element data from 67 chert samples in the Rampart area, southeastern Tanana and southwest Livengood Quadrangles, western Yukon-Tanana Upland, Alaska, generally indicates a unique geochemical signature for the cherts of a given unit.Chert samples from five known type locales were used as standards of comparison: 1)Livengood Dome Chert (Ordovician), 2)Amy Creek unit (Proterozoic to early Paleozoic), 3)Rampart Group (Mississippian to Triassic), 4)Troublesome Creek unit (Devonian), and 5)Permian-Triassic clastic unit (associated with the Triassic-dated gabbro). Samples from the above units were compared to chert from Tanana B-1 area-units of unknown...
