This data release contains rainfall data from the 2020 Archie Creek, Holiday Farm, and Riverside Fire’s. These are gages identified in the parent OR_field_observations.csv release and used to calculate peak rainfall intensity-durations. The csv files here are organized by the station name and followed by the year of data collection. The locations of the stations, dates of deployment, interval, and unit of rainfall measurement are available in gage_locations.csv in the parent data release. All rainfall data are reported as a cumulative total. The Archie1, Archie2, Archie3, Holiday1, Holiday2, Holiday3, Holiday4, and Oregon Rain 4 rain gages are non-telemetered. These gages were deployed following the fires within...

The tabular data sets and associated maps in this data release represent water-quality data that were collected between April and November of 2017 and between July and November of 2019 to describe baseline conditions prior to or sometimes following treatments using herbicides or other methods to reduce the biomass of non-native water primrose (Ludwigia) within off-channel water bodies of the Willamette River near Albany and Keizer, Oregon. The water-quality parameters measured in this study included water temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, total chlorophyll, phycocyanin (blue-green algae pigment), and fluorescing dissolved organic matter in surface water.

The US Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station, and Oregon State University established the Young Stand Thinning and Diversity Study (YSTDS) in 1990 to demonstrate and test options for young stand management in western Oregon. The YSTDS is designed to determine if different thinning, underplanting, and snag creation treatments in 35-50 year-old plantations can accelerate the development of late-seral conditions. The study was implemented on 4 replicate blocks, each consisting of an untreated Control stand and 1 each of the following stand-level thinning treatments: (1) a Light Thin treatment, approximating the timber industry standard, with about 260 residual trees per hectare (tph; 100/acre); (2) a Heavy...

Water quality point measurements were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey within the main channel Willamette River and its off-channel features in the summer and autumn of 2015 and 2016. All measurements include location, time, temperature, and depth below water surface, while most also include specific conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and pH.

This data release includes three categories of data that were compiled as part of a study of sediment and solute transport and landscape denudation in watersheds of western Oregon and northwestern California: 1) mean annual loads of suspended sediment, total suspended solids, and silicate solutes at fixed water-quality stations; 2) fluvial transport of bedload, suspended sediment, and silicate solutes; and 3) mean concentrations of silicate solutes at fixed water-quality stations.

Water quality point measurements were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey along the lower Willamette River near the cities of Lake Oswego and Wilsonville, Oregon, as well as the lowest two kilometers of the Clackamas River, Molalla River, and Johnson Creek. These measurements were collected in the main channel and off-channel features on discreet dates from April through October of 2017. All measurements include location, time, temperature, and depth below water surface, while many also include specific conductance, dissolved oxygen, pH, and turbidity.
