Album caption: El Castillo. All of the north side and one half of the east and west sides were restored by the Mexican Government. There are 91 steps in each stairway which total 364. The platform at the top makes 365 which is the number of days in the Maya year. There are 9 terraces. Nine is a sacred number to the Maya. C.I.W. 1929.
