This dataset contains the final water-level records (334) that met all threshold criteria and had an absolute residual (ABS_PSEUDO_LEV) of less than 20 feet. The threshold of 20 feet was selected based on water-level changes of the U.S. Geological Survey groundwater site 363551090152801 Qulin, in the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer. This final dataset is considered a best representation of the true water-levels in the aquifer.

This part of the Data Release contains the water-quality data compiled and synthesized from various sources(including data from water-quality samples collected by the USGS in 2015 from 26 sites). In 2011, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Town of Newfield and the Tompkins County Planning Department, began a study of the stratified-drift aquifers in the West Branch Cayuga Inlet and Fish Kill valleys in the Town of Newfield, Tompkins County, New York. The objective of this study was to characterize the hydrogeology and water quality of the stratified-drift aquifers in the West Branch Cayuga Inlet and Fish Kill valleys and produce a summary report of the findings. This dataset contains locations of confined aquifer boundaries in West Branch Cayuga Inlet and Fish Kill Valleys, Newfield, Tompkins County, New York.

The groundwater-level change maps for the Sparta-Memphis aquifer are constructed as a point-to-point comparison between wells measured in both 2011 and 2013. Wells not measured in both 2011 and 2013 were not included in the change maps construction. The 2011-2013 change map contains 261 corresponding wells. Groundwater-level differences were calculated by subtracting 2011 groundwater-level measurements, in ft below land surface from the 2013 groundwater-level measurements, in feet below land surface.
A dataset of well information and geospatial data was developed for 426 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) observation wells in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. An extensive list of attributes is included about each well, its location, and water-level history to provide the public and water-resources community with comprehensive information on the USGS well network in New England and data available from these sites. This dataset is the result of measurements of groundwater levels in the Equus Beds aquifer near Wichita, Kansas, in January 2016. Potentiometric surfaces are interpolated for the shallow and deep parts of the aquifer, and rasters of the potentiometric surfaces are included in this data release. This point dataset contains geologic information concerning regolith thickness and top-of-bedrock altitude at selected well and test-hole locations in the Lower Gunnison River Basin in Delta, Montrose, Ouray, and Gunnison Counties, Colorado. Regolith-thickness data were compiled from lithologic logs of wells and boreholes reported by the Colorado Division of Water Resources, U.S. Geological Survey, and Bureau of Reclamation. Bedrock-altitude values were computed from the bedrock altitude raster dataset (bralt). The U.S. Geological Survey prepared this dataset in cooperation with the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

The Chicot aquifer system is a vital water resource for Southwestern Louisiana, providing nearly half of the fresh groundwater the region consumes (Sargent, 2011). The aquifer’s surficial confining unit consists of a wedge-shaped thickening sequence of south to southeastern dipping, interbedded clays and courser material (primarily sand and gravel). In collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LDOTD), Sargent and others (2004) extracted data from driller’s logs, geophysical logs, and well construction information for 2094 wells overlying the Chicot aquifer to enhance the delineation of the thickness and occurence of the aquifer’s surficial confining unit.
