There is a bear investigating some camping equipment left by people when they were rescued. He also investigated the pack-sack containing Mr. Hall's cameras.

Looking west along highway 287 along the north shore of Hebgen Lake at the easternmost of 4 places where the road fell into the lake due to quake-triggered slumps of unconsolidated material along the lake shore. The fault scarps here are higher on the hill in the trees. The material in the right foreground was pushed there by road machines making the emergency road around this slump. This road can be seen joining the highway.
