This U.S. Geological Survey data release contains data for Smith Valley, Nevada, digitized from plate 2 of the 1976 publication: Rush, F.E.,and Schroer, C.V., 1976, Geohydrology of Smith Valley, Nevada with special reference to the water-use period 1953-72: Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Water Resources Bulletin 43, 43p. Data are for spring 1972 and include groundwater-level contours and a groundwater divide polyline.

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data for 2015 through 2018 from the European Space Agency's (ESA) Sentinel-1A satellite were acquired from the Alaskan Satellite Facility and used to generate spatially detailed land-surface deformation maps (interferograms) for the Pajaro Valley using conventional Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) workflows. Groundwater-level data for 1970 through 2018 at selected locations in the Pajaro Valley were provided by the Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency.

The Russian River Watershed (RRW) covers about 1300 square miles (without Santa Rosa Plain) of urban, agricultural, and forested lands in northern Sonoma County and southern Mendocino County, California. Communities in the RRW depend on a combination of Russian River water and groundwater to meet their water-supply demands. Water is used primarily for agricultural irrigation, municipal and private wells supply, and commercial uses - such as for wineries and recreation. The High Plains aquifer extends from approximately 32 to 44 degrees north latitude and 96 degrees 30 minutes to 106 degrees west longitude. The aquifer underlies about 175,000 square miles in parts of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. This data set contains two sets of measured water-level data collected on and near Offutt Air Force Base near Bellevue, Nebraska. Surface-water and groundwater-level data were collected for two synoptic water-level surveys completed in late summer of 2020 and in spring 2021. The elevations of surface-water features were surveyed with a rover receiver using a real-time network (RTN), where the rover receiver receives real-time position corrections from a central server through a mobile wireless-fidelity (Wi-Fi) hotspot linked to the rover receiver. Boreholes were drilled in 2017 and 2018 in Redwell Basin, a headwater catchment underlain by mineralized and hydrothermally altered sedimentary rock in the Elk Mountains near the town of Crested Butte, Colorado. Site locations and drilling procedures are documented under the main page of this data release. Borehole geophysical data were collected in boreholes MW1, MW1UZ, and MW2.1 as open holes prior to well construction. This data release (version 2.0, December 2018) consists of two files, a Microsoft® Access database and Microsoft® Excel workbook, that contain water levels collected from 1941 to 2018 and other hydrologic information for 910 wells in and near areas of underground nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site. Data and information in the database and workbook have been updated and are superseded by version 3.0 (January 2020) of the data release.

Ten groundwater piezometers and lake-level stilling wells were deployed in Upper Klamath Lake (UKL), Oregon during May through October 2017. Piezometers and stilling wells were deployed in pairs so that water levels could be measured relative to a common measuring point (MP) at each location. Piezometers and stilling wells were instrumented with recording pressure transducers. Discrete depth-to-water check measurements were collected at all ten locations at about two-week intervals using a calibrated electric water-level tape to verify and, if necessary, correct the continuous data record. This data set contains continuous measured groundwater and lake water-level data and continuous derived vertical hydraulic gradient (VHG) data. Water-levels were measured in paired groundwater piezometers and lake-level stilling wells with submerged pressure transducers during May through October 2017 at nine locations in Upper Klamath Lake (UKL), Oregon. These datasets include wells, springs, and contours used to construct the Hot Springs Highway 270 bypass pre-construction potentiometric-surface map. During the summer of 2017, the U.S. Geological Survey and Hot Springs National Park Service collected groundwater measurements from 66 wells - 59 measurements were used to construct a potentiometric-surface map of wells screened in the Ouachita Mountains aquifer system. The pre-construction potentiometric-surface map provides an early, baseline assessment of groundwater levels and flow directions which will be compared to a later, post-construction groundwater potentiometric-surface map. This dataset contains 50-ft contours for the Hot Springs shallowest unit of the Ouachita Mountains aquifer system potentiometric-surface map. The potentiometric-surface shows altitude at which the water level would have risen in tightly-cased wells and represents synoptic conditions during the summer of 2017. This dataset contains the original water level records extracted from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ (MoDNR) Well Information Management System (WIMS). It consists of records of wells drilled in or through the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer in a 7-county area in southeast Missouri as reported by the well drillers. Records that met specific criteria were identified and used for further statistical analysis to ensure that a particular well was open to the aquifer.
