The 'White Mesa Copper Deposit' file is part of the Grover Heinrichs mining collection. Grover was the Vice President of Heinrichs GEOEXploration, located in Tucson, Arizona. The collection contains over 1,400 folders including economic geology reports, maps, photos, correspondence, drill logs and other related materials. The focus of much of the information is on the western United States, particularly Arizona, but the collection also includes files on mining activity throughout the United States, foreign countries, and 82 mineral commodities.
This data release contains the boundaries of assessment units and input data for the assessment of continuous oil and gas resources in the Ordovician Collingwood Shale and Utica Shale formations in the Michigan Basin province. The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleum System. The Assessment Unit is shown herein as a geographic boundary interpreted, defined, and mapped by the geologist responsible for the province and incorporates a set of known or postulated oil and (or) gas accumulations sharing similar geologic, geographic, and...

Hydraulic fracturing is a treatment method used to stimulate production from oil and gas wells. Hydraulic fracturing involves injection of treatment fluids mixed with propping agents under high pressure into perforated portions of the wellbore. This method causes the reservoir rocks to fracture and the hydraulic fracturing fluids and propping agents to enter the fractures. Subsequently, the injected propping agents remain in the fractures while the oil, gas and(or) water flows back to the well head at the surface. This dataset is a compilation of information on the types and amounts of treatment fluids applied to oil and gas onshore wells that were hydraulically fractured in the United States from 2015 through 2019....

The data comprise the initial release of landscape disturbance polygons and lines (sites, pipelines and roads) related to natural gas and oil drilling developed prior to the end of 2013 in the 10-county region along the New York - Pennsylvania border. The study area includes the New York Counties of Allegany, Broome, Chemung, Steuben and Tioga, and the Pennsylvania counties of Bradford, McKean, Potter, Susquehanna, and Tioga. The data were collected using high-resolution aerial imagery from the National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) for each available year between 2004 - 2013 within a geographic information system (GIS), along with additional geospatial data on oil and gas drilling permits and locations, administrative...
