Glacier National Park, Montana. Northeast across the western part of Sperry Glacier exposing much crumpled red and white quartzite ledges formerly covered by the glacier. Ice ridge on the left is a remnant of the western frontal part of the glacier. The front of the eastern part is melted back from the inner moraine. July 25, 1936.

The ravine cuts through about 30 feet of glacial till and into underlying stratified sands. The latter were deposited either during the last ice advance or at an earlier stage, and subsequently covered by the deposit of till. Wisconsin. June 10, 1909.
