The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has compiled a geodatabase containing mineral-related geospatial data for the People's Republic of China. The data can be used in analyses of the extractive fuel and nonfuel mineral industries and related economic and physical infrastructure integral for the successful operation of the mineral industries within the area of study as well as the movement of mineral products across domestic and global markets. This geodatabase reflects the USGS ongoing commitment to its mission of understanding the nature and distribution of global mineral commodity supply chains by updating and publishing the georeferenced locations of mineral commodity production and processing facilities, mineral...

Since 1975, annual water use for Louisiana has been published on a 5-year basis and is used for a variety of purposes. As the Sparta aquifer is a heavily used aquifer, is the sole source of groundwater for many parishes in Louisiana, and recent withdrawals have exceeded the Sparta’s natural recharge, a more frequent compilation of water usage for the Sparta aquifer in Louisiana is needed to inform State conservation groups and efforts, private and public entities, and to feed groundwater models. This data release contains water withdrawn for public supply, thermoelectric, and industrial use from the Sparta aquifer in 2020, tabulated by parish and water-use category. The estimated public-supply withdrawals in 2020...

This data release contains a comprehensive, spatially referenced database of surface-water transfer and removal events in the Pacific drainages of the United States, which include the Columbia River basin, the Puget Sound basin, the coastal drainages of Washington, Oregon, and California, and the Central Valley of California. The database also includes mean annual estimates of the water diverted at each event. These estimates were mostly based on information available from the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation but also, for some events, from state and local water management agencies. While these estimates generally represent conditions between 1974 and 2014, the database includes information...
