Gridded climate inputs include: precipitation (ppt), minimum temperature (tmn), maximum temperature (tmx), and potential evapotranspiration (pet). Gridded hydrologic variables include: actual evapotranspiration (aet), climatic water deficit (cwd), snowpack (pck), recharge (rch), runoff (run), and soil storage (str). The units for temperature variables are degrees Celsius, and all other variables are in millimeters. Monthly historical variables from water years 1896 to 2019 are summarized into water year files and long-term average summaries...
This data release contains monthly 270-meter resolution Basin Characterization Model (BCMv8) climate and hydrologic variables for Localized Constructed Analog (LOCA; Pierce et al., 2014)-downscaled Global Climate Models (GCMs) for Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 4.5 (medium-low emissions) and 8.5 (high emissions) for hydrologic California. The 20 future climate scenarios consist of ten GCMs with RCP 4.5 and 8.5 each: ACCESS 1.0, CanESM2, CCSM4, CESM1-BGC, CMCC-CMS, CNRM-CM5, GFDL-CM3, HadGEM2-CC, HadGEM2-ES, and MIROC5. The LOCA climate scenarios span water years 1950 to 2099 with greenhouse-gas forcings beginning in 2006. The LOCA downscaling method has been shown to produce better estimates of extreme...
The actual evapotranspiration (AET) annual rates provided in shapefiles AET_SJR_Basin_Cells are for 2 km by 2 km cells in basins in east-central and northeast Florida. The AET rates are presented in the shapefiles for two methods: the Simplified Surface Energy Balance operational (SSEBop) method and for the land-cover type (LC) method. The period of record is 2000 to 2016 for the LC-based method and from 2000 to 2017 for the SSEBop-based method. The SSEBop AET rates are based on a work by Senay and others (2013). The LC-based AET rates were calculated from the AET/RET ratios listed in file AET2RET_Ratios.csv and the annual reference ET rates from 2000 to 2016. A third method used to calculate annual average AET...

Gridded hydrologic variables include: actual evapotranspiration (aet), climatic water deficit (cwd), snowpack (pck), recharge (rch), runoff (run), and soil storage (str). The units for temperature variables are degrees Celsius, and all other variables are in millimeters. Monthly historical variables from water years 1896 to 2019 are summarized into water year files and long-term average summaries for water years 1981-2010. Four...
This dataset includes the following measurements made over a xeric tall grass prairie in the southwest portion of Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge in 2011 and 2012: 1) half hourly eddy covariance measurements of latent heat flux (evapotranspiration) and fluxes of carbon dioxide and sensible heat, and friction velocity (U star) 2) half hour averages of solar and net radiation; photosynthetically active radiation; air temperature and humidity; soil temperature, moisture, and heat flux; wind speed and direction; and half hour sums of precipitation. 3) approximately weekly measurements of vegetation including leaf area index, height of vegetation, dry and wet weights

The spatial extents of verified irrigated lands were compiled from various federal and state sources across the nation and combined into a single Geographic Information System (GIS) geodatabase for the purpose of model training and validation. In cooperation with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), researchers at the University of Wisconsin (UW) generated a nation-wide map of irrigated lands using remote-sensing techniques that will be incorporated into future irrigation water-use models. The verified spatial data varies in scope, accuracy, and time period represented, but in general represents GIS coverages (polygons) of agricultural land irrigated for at least some period during 2002–17. Data from 14 states were provided...

This data release supports U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Scientific Investigations Report 2023-5106, Groundwater Discharge by Evapotranspiration from the Amargosa Wild and Scenic River and Contributing Areas, Inyo and San Bernardino Counties, California. It consists of two comma-separated values (CSV) files containing data collected at two USGS atmospheric monitoring locations (USGS site identification numbers 355846116160401 and 355918116161801) beginning in January 2018 and lasting for approximately 1 year. The data include 30-minute values for cumulative normalized flux for 6 circular areas around each site and 30-minute values for unadjusted total evapotranspiration. The radii of the circular areas are 25, 50,...

This shapefile represents the spatial distribution of mean annual water-budget components, in inches, for the island of Oahu, Hawaii for a projected future-climate condition representative of phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5 (RCP8.5) 2041-70 scenario climate and 2010 land cover, as described in USGS Professional Paper (PP) 1876 by Izuka and Rotzoll (2023). The water-budget components for each model subarea were computed for the future-climate condition and 2010 land cover using a water-budget model developed by Engott and others (2017). The 2010 land-cover map developed by Engott (2017) was used to define the land-cover conditions and the model...
