A raster dataset of the percent of sagebrush-dominated ecological systems within a 5km radius moving window. This dataset was made by reclassifying the Sagebrush Cover raster into values of only sagebrush-dominated ecological systems, and then running a moving window analysis on that raster.

A raster dataset representing road density within the Western United States. This dataset was made combining the BLM GRSG Westwide Habitat Disturbance Threats of Surface Streets, Major Roads, and Highways. The density metric of the raster is kilometers of roads per square kilometer within a 5km radius multiplied by 10000. The purpose is to represent road density within the Western United States. It was created to be incorporated into a larger landscape scale geospatial data modeling effort, the Conservation and Restoration Strategy.

The LANDFIRE fuel data describe the composition and characteristics of both surface fuel and canopy fuel. Specific products include fire behavior fuel models, canopy bulk density (CBD), canopy base height (CBH), canopy cover (CC), canopy height (CH), fuel characterization classification system (FCCS), and fuel loading models (FLMs). These data may be implemented within models to predict the behavior and effects of wildland fire. These data are useful for strategic fuel treatment prioritization and tactical assessment of fire behavior and effects. Data Summary: The Fuel Characteristic Classification System (FCCS) defines a fuelbed as the inherent physical characteristics of fuel that contribute to fire behavior and...

The Great Plains Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GPLCC, https://www.fws.gov/science/catalog) is a partnership that provides applied science and decision support tools to assist natural resource managers conserve plants, fish and wildlife in the mid- and short-grass prairie of the southern Great Plains. It is part of a national network of public-private partnerships — known as Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs, http://www.fws.gov/science/shc/lcc.html) — that work collaboratively across jurisdictions and political boundaries to leverage resources and share science capacity. The Great Plains LCC identifies science priorities for the region and helps foster science that addresses these priorities to support...

The National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy, initiated in 2009 and finalized in 2014, provides a national vision for wildland fire management. This highly collaborative effort establishes three overarching goals, and describes stakeholder-driven processes for achieving them: (1) resilient landscapes; (2) fire-adapted communities; and (3) safe and effective wildfire response. The scientific rigor of this program was ensured with the establishment of the National Science and Analysis Team (NSAT). The main tasks of NSAT were to compile credible scientific information, data, and models to help explore national challenges and opportunities, identify a range of management options, and help set national priorities...

Land & Resource Management Plan (L&RMP) Land Suitability ClassThis is a derived layer of forestland capability, suitability and availability for timber production. Water is assigned census or non-census water using the water bodies layer. Land is assigned to forest or non-forest using existing vegetation. Forestland both capable (productive) and other (non-productive) forestland, as well as non-forest are determined by CALVEG types (TABLE 38). Each CALVEG type is assigned a forest productivity code (TABLE 43). Suitability information is derived from productive forest CALVEG types that are available, minus the unsuitable forestlands (UNSU). Availability (TABLE 11) is derived by determining all forestland from CALVEG...

Maps of Plant Association Groups in the U.S. Pacific Northwest can be downloaded from the website below. These grids are created from a Potential Natural Vegetation modeling process that utilizes digital elevation data, climate data and other factors which can include fog, site moisture, soil, or geology. U.S. Forest Service Plant Association guides are available on the ecoshare website: <http://ecoshare.info/category/publications/>

This dataset includes magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in July 2019 in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Along with geologic mapping, airborne magnetics, airborne electromagnetics, and audiomagnetotellurics, the USGS collected MT data at 24 sites along five profiles ranging from 2 to 5 kilometers in length: across Red Mountain of the Silverton caldera, within the caldera in Eureka Graben, across the south-eastern margin of the caldera along Arrastra Gulch, across the southern margin of the caldera along the western margin of Kendall Mountain, and across the south-western margin of the caldera along South Fork...
