This is a collection of GIS databases for 7.5 minute geologic maps published by the South Carolina Geological Survey. The geologic map GIS databases have been archived using the Geologic Map Schema (GeMS) developed by the USGS National Geologic Map Database program. These databases were converted from their original schema into the GeMS schema.

Purpose
This collection of GIS databases is in the GeMS schema. The project for which this collection was developed demonstrates a methodology for converting GIS data in an existing data model into the GeMS data model.
