Summary
This database contains literature citations and associated summaries pertaining to livestock grazing effects on amphibians and their habitats, with an emphasis on the Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) and other listed/sensitive wetland-breeding amphibians in the western United States. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, nor did we perform a systematic meta-analysis; rather, literature records were included based on topical relevance. *HINT: If you are looking for the database SEARCH TOOL, scroll down to 'Attached Files' and download 'Annotated_bibliography_with_search_tool.accdb.' Livestock grazing is one of the most common land uses in the western USA, where multiple amphibians of conservation concern use habitats that are grazed. Despite the common intersection of grazing and sensitive amphibian species, there are very few reviews of research related to the issue. The purpose of this database is to provide users with a query-able compilation of the positive and negative effects of livestock grazing on amphibians and their habitats. This information should help agency and private land managers evaluate and implement grazing while maintaining habitat for Oregon spotted frogs and other amphibians.
