Our objective was to model the risk of becoming intermittent under drier climate conditions on small, ungaged streams in the Upper Colorado River Basin. Modeling streamflows is an important tool for understanding landscape-scale drivers of flow and estimating flows where there are no gaged records. We focused our study in the Upper Colorado River Basin, a region that is not only critical for water resources but also projected to experience large future climate shifts toward a drier climate. This dataset represents the results (9/30/2008) of the Northeastern Aquatic Habitat Classification System (NAHCS) GIS map for streams and rivers. This classification focused on mapping a stream habitat types across 13 northeastern states (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ, PA, MD, DC, DE, VA, WV). Stream and river centerlines were extracted from the USGS National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NH-Plus) 2006 1:100,000 data. These reaches were attributed and placed into classes representing their biopysical setting in terms of stream size, gradient, and geology, and expected natural water temperature regime. This dataset features suitable habitat at discharges from 15,000 cfs to 100,000 cfs. The spatial extent for floodplain inundation modeling in the lower Trinity River was from Romayor, Texas, to approximately Moss Bluff, Texas. River sections were modeled using steady flow conditions. For the upper section, discharge and stage were both available for the two gages (Romayor USGS 08066500 and Liberty USGS 08067000). For the lower section, the Moss Bluff gage (USGS 08067100) is tidally-influenced, so gage height didn’t correspond to upstream changes in discharge. Depth rasters were exported from HEC-RAS 5.0.0. The Comprehensive Habitat Type Dataset was developed by merging NOAA Benthic Habitat Atlas (BHA), Ecological Mapping Systems of Texas (aka Texas Ecological Systems Database, TESD), and National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) data within the study area for the ICF 2012 project (CGP LCC 2012-002 Employing the Conservation Design Approach on Sea-Level Rise Impacts on Coastal Avian Habitats along the Central Texas Coast). This dataset shows modelled habitat suitability for the Pacific-slope Flycatcher (Empidonax difficilis) under current and projected future conditions. We built habitat suitability models for 237 bird, 117 mammal, and 12 amphibian species. Species were chosen for inclusion in the study based on a simple set of criteria. For a species to be included in the study, it had to be primarily associated with terrestrial habitats, have a digital map of its current range, and have some portion of its current distribution intersect with the study area extent. Unaltered Beach This layer is an outdated version of one of the South Atlantic LCC indicators in the beach and dune ecosystem. It is an index of altered beaches capturing impacts from hardened structures like jetties, groins, and infrastructure. This indicator was updated in Blueprint 2.2 to incorporate more recent data from the Coastal Barrier Resources System, which is used to set the boundaries of undeveloped beaches. The updated indicator was also extended to new areas of the beach and dune ecosystem map. This project will conduct a synthesis of marine spatial data. An OPS staff will be hired to work with marine/coastal experts – to develop a Technical Advisory Group and gather data and input on the processes used in the marine assessment. Additionally, this project will identify key inland (terrestrial and freshwater) areas that currently have or may have in the future direct and indirect impacts on the health of the marine environment. Results of this project will be the basis for the marine component of the Landscape Conservation Design being developed by the Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative.
