This child item model archive summary documents a surrogate regression model to estimate suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) at the Schoharie Creek at Burtonsville, New York (U.S. Geological Survey station number 01351500). The methods used follow USGS guidance in relevant Office of Surface Water/Office of Water Quality Technical Memoranda and USGS Techniques and Methods, book 3, chap. 4 (Rasmussen and others, 2009). Sixty-one concurrent measurements of SSC and turbidity, collected from October 1, 2015, through May 2, 2020, were used in the model calibration dataset. Samples were collected across 75 percent of the range in observed discharge and 87 percent of the range in observed turbidity during the model calibration...

Water-supply lakes are the primary source of water for many communities throughout Missouri. Therefore, accurate and up-to-date estimates of lake capacity are important for managing and predicting adequate water supply. Many of the water supply lakes in Missouri were previously surveyed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in the early 2000s (Richards, 2013) and in 2013 (Huizinga, 2014); however, years of potential sedimentation may have resulted in reduced water storage capacity. Periodic bathymetric surveys are useful to update the area/capacity table and to determine changes in the bathymetric surface. Unity Lake Number One is a water supply lake used by the city of Unity Village in western Missouri. The surface...

This page contains model inputs and results from 390 Fluvial Egg Drift Simulator (FluEgg) (version 4.1.1) simulations of invasive carp eggs and larvae in the Maumee River, Ohio, under steady flow conditions. FluEgg models the drift and dispersion of eggs and larvae in fluvial environments. The eggs develop, changing in size and density, and eventually hatch into larvae. The simulations end when the larvae reach the gas bladder inflation stage. FluEgg requires the user to provide hydraulic data to drive the drift model. The hydraulic inputs for these FluEgg simulations were generated using a one-dimensional steady hydraulic model of the Maumee River (see the other child items of this data release for more information...

Field-based real-time kinematic (RTK) GNSS surveys of water surface elevation and channel bed topography were collected along the Blue River and Colorado River, focusing on four cross-sections from which remotely sensed data were obtained. These data were used to assess the accuracy of river bed elevations inferred from the ASTRALiTe bathymetric lidar, acquired from an unmanned aircraft system (UAS). These data sets were collected to support research focused on developing innovative methods for non-contact measurement of river discharge based on various forms of remotely sensed data. The RTK GNSS surveys were performed using a local base station and Trimble R8 and R10 receivers while wading the channel at each...
