The original Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM) did not simulate tile drain discharge in the west side of the San Joaquin Valley. The updated Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM2) does simulate on-farm drains. The data for the drain flow and locations were obtained from the Berkeley National Laboratory is from (WESTSIM2) (N. Quinn, Berkeley National Laboratory, written communication., 2010). This component of the data release includes:e (1) three datasets included are a spreadsheet of the available observations with the drain flows in acre-ft/month, (2) a shapefile of the WESTSIM2 drain cells, and (3) a shapefile of the original WESTSIM2 drain cells translated to the CVHM2 model grid.

This data release contains monthly 270-meter gridded Basin Characterization Model (BCMv8) climate inputs and hydrologic outputs for Los Angeles (LA). Gridded climate inputs include: precipitation (ppt), minimum temperature (tmn), maximum temperature (tmx), and potential evapotranspiration (pet). Gridded hydrologic variables include: actual evapotranspiration (aet), climatic water deficit (cwd), snowpack (pck), recharge (rch), runoff (run), and soil storage (str). The units for temperature variables are degrees Celsius, and all other variables are in millimeters. Monthly historical variables from water years 1896 to 2019 are summarized into water year files and long-term average summaries for water years 1981-2010....

This data release contains digital data generated by the U.S. Geological Survey under cooperative agreements with Sonoma County Water Agency and the California State Water Resources Control Board to characterize the three-dimensional hydrogeology and water quality of the Russian River Watershed, located in the northern part of the California Coast Ranges section of the Pacific Border province. This dataset contains borehole lithologic and hydrologic data used to support development of the framework model . The borehole dataset is released as a series of .csv ascii files including (1) individual borehole location and construction information, (2) downhole lithologic interval data derived from well driller’s lithology...

The Cassini quadrangle is in the north-central part of the nearside lunar disk and includes most of the northeast quadrant of Mare Imbrium. Four principle classes of geologic units can be distinguished: (1) material of three rugged arcuate mountain ranges circumferential to the imbrium basin; (2) terra materials superposed on these ranges; (3) mare materials; and (4) crater materials.

The Central Valley, and particularly the San Joaquin Valley, has a long history of land subsidence caused by groundwater development. The extensive withdrawal of groundwater from the unconsolidated deposits of the San Joaquin Valley lowered groundwater levels and caused widespread land subsidence—reaching 9 meters by 1981. More than half of the thickness of the aquifer system is composed of fine-grained sediments, including clays, silts, and sandy or silty clays that are susceptible to compaction. In an effort to aid water managers in understanding how water moves through the aquifer system, predicting water-supply scenarios, and addressing issues related to water competition, the United States Geological Survey...

Airborne magnetic surveys were conducted in Oklahoma from August 11th, 2017-October 28th, 2017, by Goldak Airborne Surveys. Here we present downloadable flight line data from those surveys in comma-separated values (csv format). Three areas were flown along a draped surface with a nominal survey height above ground of 120 meters. The flight line spacing for these areas was 200 to 400 m for Area 123, in southwestern Oklahoma; 1000 m for Area 4, in northwestern Oklahoma, and 800 m for Area 5, in north-central Oklahoma. For each area control lines were flown at ten times the traverse line spacing. The surveys were flown to map subsurface geologic variations including ancient magmatic bodies, faults, and other geologic...

This sampling frame is a set of grid-based finite-area frames spanning Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The grid for the United States is broken into individual grids for the continental United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Alaska is combined with Canada into a single grid. Each country/state/territory extent consists of four nested sampling grids at 50x50km, 10x10km, 5x5km, and 1x1km resolutions. The original 10x10km continental United States grid was developed by the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture for use in the interagency “Bat Grid” monitoring program in the Pacific Northwest and was expanded across Canada, the United States, and Mexico for the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat)....

This release includes aeroradiometric data collected via low-altitude helicopter flown over northeastern Washington State, centered over the town of Republic, Washington. The data were acquired between September 26, 2022 and August 21, 2023 by Precision Geosurveys, Inc. of Langley, British Columbia and processed by EDCON-PRJ, Inc. of Lakewood, Colorado, contracted by the U.S. Geological Survey and funded through the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (EarthMRI). The survey includes gridded data from target altitude of 80-100 meters above ground level, subject to aircraft climb and descent limitations. Primary transverse flight lines were flown in the east-west direction and spaced 200 meters apart. Tie lines were...

This dataset contains absolute-gravity measurements made using an A-10 absolute gravity meter (Micro-g Lacoste, Inc.) between 2009 and 2017 in the Big Chino Subbasin, Yavapai County, Arizona. Measurements were made about 3 times per year at a total of 33 different stations. Data are presented in tabular form, including relevant parameters used for processing. Data were output by g software (Micro-g Lacoste, Inc.) version 9.12.04.23. A correction for laser-frequency drift was applied, based on regular calibration of the HeNe laser used in the A-10 against an iodine-stabilized laser. A second soil-moisture correction was applied based on satellite soil-moisture measurements, an infiltration model, and the elevation...

The point and polygon layers within this geodatabase represent locations of mineral occurrences, mines, mining and mineral districts and sites of active mineral exploration within or near the Department of the Interior (DOI) Sagebrush Focal Areas in Montana, Wyoming and Utah, central Idaho, and the Oregon-Nevada-Idaho border area. The data were compiled by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Mineral Deposit Database project (USMIN) to provide mineral resource information for use in the USGS Sagebrush Mineral Resource Assessment (SaMiRA). This assessment was conducted for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and evaluated the mineral resource potential of approximately 10 million acres of Federal lands identified as...

A pollen addition experiment was conducted on the leaves of Croton setiger, a Californian forb. Pollen was added to leaves of randomly selected plants, and control plants had no pollen added. Over 2013 and 2014 the number of predatory and herbivorous insects were counted on each plant, and the number of damaged leaves and plant size were measured.

Controlled source audio-frequency magnetotellurics (CSAMT) data were collected in the Grand Canyon West and Plain Tank Flat areas of the western Hualapai Reservation, Arizona, to better understand the hydrogeology of the area. CSAMT data provide vertical cross-section (profile) data about the resistivity of the subsurface, which may be related to lithologic boundaries and (or) grain-size distribution in the subsurface. CSAMT involves transmitting a current of electricity at various frequencies in one location, and measuring the magnetic response and electrical current between electrodes spaced along a receiver line several kilometers from the transmitter. Data were collected using a GGT-30 transmitter and GDP32-II...
