Observations of porifera and cnidarian on the New England Seamount Chain and in deep sea canyons in the Northwestern Atlantic continental margin. Observations were made using underwater video footage collected by the Okeanos Explorers’ ROV Deep Discoverer on cruise legs EX1404L1, EX1404L2 and EX1404L3. Individuals were classified to the lowest possible taxonomic unit and matched to equal or lowest level of taxon in the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) utilizes several sampling gears for fisheries-independent monitoring of finfish and shellfish communities. They include bag seines, trawls, gill nets and oyster dredges. The Observer Program database consists of fish, invertebrate, and marine mammal observations collected by fishery biologists while deployed on board commercial fishing vessels or at shoreside processing plants participating in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska groundfish fisheries. This database covers observations from 1993-2004. The specific data components collected are outlined in the Groundfish Observer Manual. Once received by NOAA Fisheries, these data are extensively checked for quality. Each record represents the summary of all the observations made for a given taxa in a given year from each 20km by 20km grid square; counts and weights are statistical estimates.

This dataset contains zooplankton species distribution and abundance data collected in the Chukchi Sea during the August 2017 Arctic Marine Biodiversity Observing Network (AMBON) research cruise. The dataset is a comma separate values file (csv) exported from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The data include the location, date, time, depth, abundance and biomass of zooplankton collected during the 2017 AMBON cruise. In general, ChesMMAP is fishery-independent monitoring survey that uses a large-mesh bottom trawl to sample late juvenile-to-adult fishes in the mainstem of Chesapeake Bay. This dataset contains the non-freshwater specimens from the Nonindigenous Aquatic Species (NAS) database, which was established as a central repository for spatially referenced biogeographic accounts of introduced aquatic species.
