This dataset describes irrigation water use in Kansas in 2015. Volumes of water used, irrigated area, and average irrigation application depths are provided for three sets of subareas: (1) Irrigation water use analysis regions that include Groundwater Management Districts (GMDs) with the areas outside of GMDs divided into eastern, central, and western Kansas; (2) Regional Planning Areas (RPAs), which are 14 areas determined by the Kansas Water Office based on hydrologic and administrative boundaries, each with a set of goals outlined in the Kansas Water Vision (https://kwo.ks.gov/water-plan/water-vision); and (3) the 105 Kansas counties. Geochemical analyses of authigenic carbonates, bivalves, and pore fluids were performed on samples collected from seep fields along the Queen Charlotte Fault, a right lateral transform boundary that separates the Pacific and North American tectonic plates. Samples were collected using grab samplers and piston cores, and were collected during three different research cruises in 2011, 2015, and 2017.

We characterized seafloor sediment conditions near the mouth of the Elwha River from underwater photographs taken every four hours from September 2011 to December 2013. These data were collected using field portable (handheld) X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) equipped with a 4-watt Ta/Au X-ray tube. Individual point estimates of stream density by juvenile salmonid species in two small tributaries to the Salmon River, Lake Ontario, New York were recorded. Enumeration of salmonid species was observed using a backpack electrofisher in order to identify fish species. Stream density estimates were calculated using stream width measurements taken at equally spaced transects. Comparisons of species densities between the two streams were analyzed to infer competition or segregation.

Human-associated indicator bacteria and human specific viruses in the Menomonee River watershed in Milwaukee, WI were investigated from April 2009 to March 2011 at six sampling locations within the watershed using genetic markers to assess the amount of waterborne pathogen contamination. We used concentration and water volume data from runoff-event and low-flow periods to compute human virus and indicator bacteria loads for each sample collected. Loads were then used, along with drainage area from each defined sub-watershed, to compute yield contributions of human-associated bacteria and human specific viruses for each of the six sub-watersheds studied in the Menomonee River watershed.

This data release includes ground control points (GCPs) collected during two uncrewed aerial system (UAS) imagery surveys conducted at an edge-of-field site north of Medina River Natural Area near San Antonio, Texas, on August 14, 2019, and July 8, 2022.
