Digital datasets were used to develop basin characteristics values that are used in multiple regression equations and tested for the use in predicting flow-duration curves (FDCs) in ungaged areas of Indiana. Several basin characteristics are easily derived from StreamStats basin delineations, such as basin area (https://streamstats.usgs.gov/ss/). Other basin characteristics require ancillary datasets as input. The data provided through this data release are those data that have been collected, tested, and ultimately selected as a basis for FDC development. These include PRISM 3-Month Average Precipitation, Thickness and Coarseness of Quaternary Sediments, and Soil Available Water Capacity. There are 6 continuous...

Tabular and raster data containing spatial capture recapture records for male and female bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni) in Grand Canyon National Park and surrounding landscape collected from 2010 to 2018 and associated tabular data files required for analysis of data with spatial capture connectivity models and raster data describing the ouput from SCR models. Associated tables and rasters include details for traps and genetic captures, and the state space for required modeling and associated spatial covariates in models, as well as rasters describing population density and habitat use.

Risk assessments describe the risk of a species’ invasion in a location, and many risk assessments have been produced by different institutions for various reasons. However, information is sporadically located online, increasing the difficulty of developing comprehensive lists of species with risk assessments or comparing assessment results across species in locations of interest. Therefore, we aggregated species risk assessments by searching information systems and conducting a literature review. The methods for data aggregation are explained in the larger work citation (Dean et al. 2024). The present dataset documents risk assessments available at different spatial scales (e.g., territory, state, region, nation)...

The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting coastal wetlands loss. This data set includes mosaicked aerial photographs for the East Marsh Island Marsh Creation (TV-21) project for 2021. This data is used as a basemap land-water classification. It also serves as a visual tool for project managers to help them identify any obvious problems or land loss within their...

This project contains field data and supporting files for a Lagrangian particle tracking (LPT) model at a representative reach on the Osage River, Missouri. Field datasets include a topobathymetric digital elevation model (DEM) for a 5-km reach of the Osage River, water surface elevation profiles, and velocity data collected with acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). Channel topography was generated from data collected by USGS staff from the Columbia Environmental Research Center during single beam sonar surveys of the channel bed and high-resolution Real Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems for positioning. Field data was used to generate and validate a Lagrangian Particle Tracking model to evaluate...
This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides zircon U-Pb geochronology and whole rock isotope geochemistry for drill core samples from Montana, Nebraska, Nevada and Wyoming. The drill core samples were obtained from the USGS Core Research Center in Denver, Colorado. The samples were in order to constrain the age, provenance, metamorphic history, and geochemical character of basement terranes in the United States.
This data release consists of Microsoft Excel workbooks, shapefiles, and a figure (png format) related to a cooperative project between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the Florida Flood Hub for Applied Research and Innovation at the University of South Florida to derive projected future change factors for precipitation depth-duration-frequency (DDF) curves at 242 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Atlas 14 stations in Florida. The change factors were computed as the ratio of projected future (2020-59 or 2050-89) to historical (1966-2005) extreme-precipitation depths fitted to extreme-precipitation data using a constrained maximum likelihood (CML) approach as described in https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20225093....

This dataset is associated with a USGS publication "Assessment of Undiscovered Oil and Gas Resources in the Eagle Ford Group and Associated Cenomanian-Turonian Strata, U.S. Gulf Coast, Texas, 2018" and summarizes data generated by the author for the publication using IHS Harmony DeclinePlus software. Data includes average estimated ultimate recoveries per square mile for three continuous oil assessment units with location information. Data is derived from IHS Markit data. No proprietary information is contained in this release.

The dataset contains a hybrid bathymetric-topographic digital elevation model (DEM) of the Osage River downstream from Bagnell, Missouri. Channel topography was generated from data collected by USGS staff from the Columbia Environmental Research Center during single beam sonar surveys of the channel bed in March through May 2022 and terrestrial light detection and ranging (LiDAR) surveys of channel banks in December 2021. Floodplain topography was generated from airborne LiDAR data downloaded from the Missouri Spatial Data Information Service (MSDIS).
These datasets provide early estimates of 2024 fractional cover for exotic annual grass (EAG) species and one native perennial grass species on a weekly basis from April to late June. Typically, the EAG estimates are publicly released within 7-13 days of the latest satellite observation used for that version. Each weekly release contains five fractional cover maps along with their corresponding confidence maps for: 1) a group of 16 species of EAGs, 2) cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum); 3) Field Brome (Bromus arvensis); 4) medusahead (Taeniatherum caput-medusae); and 5) Sandberg bluegrass (Poa secunda). These datasets were generated leveraging field observations from Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Assessment, Inventory,...

This dataset represents elevation data of the beach topography and near-shore bathymetry before placing dredge spoils on the beach at Minnesota Point near the Duluth Entry of Lake Superior, Duluth, Minnesota. The data was acquired using a lidar sensor, single-beam and multibeam sonars. The dataset includes DEMs of the terrestrial beach areas and topobathy (combined terrestrial and bathymetry), LAS and XYZ files of lidar, single-beam, and multibeam point data, and 2-ft contours. Data were collected in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District, to evaluate movement of placed material and overall change of near-shore bathymetry after beach nourishment.
These data are derived from laser scanning surveys of a paleoseismic investigation site along the north coast section of the San Andreas Fault near Gualala, CA. We performed three surveys with a terrestrial laser scanner at different stages of trench excavation in 2021. To generate more complete maps of the bare ground at the site, we also incorporated airborne laser scanner data from the USGS 3DEP collected in 2018 to fill in gaps and expand the footprints of the digital elevation models. We provide gridded digital elevation models of the combined terrestrial and airborne "bare earth" ground points, the merged terrestrial and airborne point clouds which we used to create these, and the processed airborne and terrestrial...
