Macroinvertebrate samples were collected from streams tributary to Honnedaga Lake and from the Middle Branch of the Black River during 2012-2016 and analyzed for methylmercury concentrations and for stable isotope ratios of nitrogen and carbon. Macroinvertebrates were identified in the field, and the level of taxonomic resolution varied from order to species; most taxa were identified to the family level. Specimens were field-processed into composite samples, field-frozen, and submitted to the mercury laboratory for freeze-drying and analysis. This dataset describes water-quantity and -quality data measured from the parking lot influent and underdrain and overflow effluent from the permeable asphalt, concrete and paver test plots in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Data include precipitation statistics, volumes, and concentrations and loads of total and dissolved forms of solids, nutrients, chloride, and bacteria. Samples were collected in August 2014 through September 2016. These data are interpreted in a USGS Scientific Investigations Report.

The USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY–MT WSC) completed a report (Sando and McCarthy, 2018) documenting methods for peak-flow frequency analysis following implementation of the Bulletin 17C guidelines. The methods are used to provide estimates of peak-flow quantiles for 50-, 42.9-, 20-, 10-, 4-, 2-, 1-, 0.5-, and 0.2-percent annual exceedance probabilities (AEPs) for selected streamgages operated by the WY–MT WSC. This data release presents peak-flow frequency analyses for 11 selected streamgages in Jefferson County, Montana, that were based on methods described by Sando and McCarthy (2018).

A groundwater level survey and reconnaissance of the hydrologic conditions in the South Coast aquifer in the Santa Isabel area of southern Puerto Rico was conducted during March 31 to April 17, 2014. The field survey included groundwater level measurements at 55 wells and instantaneous streamflow measurements at 15 locations in streams and irrigation canals. A potentiometric surface map of the alluvial aquifer provides an indication of the directions of groundwater flow. The U.S. Geological Survey Toxic Substances Hydrology Program at Cape Cod has been investigating the fate and transport of a treated-wastewater, groundwater contaminant plume. A portion of the contaminated groundwater discharges into Ashumet Pond, a kettle hole, freshwater lake. A study was conducted from June 2013 to June 2015 to document transport, transformation, and discharge of dissolved inorganic nitrogen species (DIN; nitrate, nitrite, and nitrous oxide) from the contaminant plume to the lake, across the groundwater-surface water interface. From October 2016 to July 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Maine Department of Transportation, collected surface, marine and borehole geophysical surveys to characterize the subsurface materials on land and under the water at a former mine facility in Brooksville, Maine. Three water-based geophysical methods were used to evaluate the geometry and composition of subsurface materials. Field survey of the longitudinal profile and off-channel habitats (side channels and alcoves) of the lower Cedar River from Landsburg to Renton, WA were conducted in 2010 and 2013 respectively. The longitudinal profile is provided as an ASCII text file with fields delimited by commas. Digital maps with the locations of off-channel habitats are provided as ArcGIS shapefiles.

This data release presents a peak-flow frequency analysis for U.S. Geological Survey streamgage 05481510 Bluff Creek at Pilot Mound, Iowa. The annual peak-flow record at this streamgage consists of both a discrete crest-stage period and a continuous partial-record period. The streamgage, which is in the Des Moines River Basin, is located on 130th Street in Pilot Mound, Iowa. Drainage area at the streamgage is 23.5 square miles. Annual peak-flow data are available for the period 1966-2021. The peak of record, 1,290 cubic feet per second, occurred on June 16, 1990. This USGS data release represents supplemental tabular data for an annual groundwater discharge by evapotranspiration (ET) from areas of spring-fed riparian vegetation, Stump Spring and Hiko Springs, Clark County, Nevada, 2016-18. The raw ET dataset contained multiple data gaps that were simulated and gap-filled with the water-level model utility in SeriesSEE, a USGS developed Microsoft Excel® addin. The drainage-basin characteristics presented include those computed by the Montana StreamStats application (McCarthy and others, 2016). The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, conducted an investigation of acid-rock drainage from road cuts in Tennessee during 2014-2015. The Devonian Chattanooga Shale contains disseminated pyrite and is a primary producer of acid-rock drainage (ARD) in Tennessee. One objective of the overall investigation was to attenuate ARD by manipulating the indigenous microbial community through different treatment injections.
