This dataset was produced in by the Delaware Geological survey in cooperation with the US Geological Survey and Delaware Department of Transportation for the purpose of delineating gage basins and performing hydrologic analysis in the Delaware 2020 StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of the fundamental dataset layers necessary for the functionality of StreamStats application within the Delaware StreamStats 2020 study area. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering and design purposes. The map-based user interface can be used to delineate drainage areas, get basin characteristics...

This metadata record documents 8 comma delimitated files that support the USGS Scientific Investigations Report 2018-5020 on field studies in the Bucks Branch watershed and the Andover Branch watershed. Data were collected from two fields at two locations and include: groundwater, soil water, soils and plant tissue chemistry. Data also include sulfur hexafluoride and dissolved gas concentrations used in age dating of groundwater.

This data record contains a CSV file with spectral reflectance (420-2114 nm) for sediment samples collected from each of four source locations (cropland, stream bank, glaciolacustrine, and street dust) located across sites in the Northwestern US during prior studies. Data were collected in a laboratory setting using Spectrecology USB4000-VIS-NIR and NIRQuest512-2.2 spectrometers. The data contain spectra collected from sieved, non-sieved, dry and suspended samples from each sample source, as well as spectra for calibration standards. Explanation of fields in contained in the spectral properties data table are described in a data dictionary. Data on the physical properties of samples used in this study have been...

In June 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey Maryland-Delaware-District of Columbia Water Science Center (MD-DE-DC WSC) team began to collect and inventory available information on toxic contaminants within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. State agencies were contacted to determine available data. Also, the National Water Information System (NWIS) and National Water Quality Database (NWQD) were queried to gather relevant data for the compilation. The resulting tables contain records for available sites where specific analyte groups, Hg (mercury), PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls), or pesticides, have been collected with appropriate supplemental metadata including media, method, time frame, and frequency of collection. Sample...

This data release includes one comma delimited table that represents a summary of source and target samples collected for White Clay Creek between 2020 and 2023, in support of sediment fingerprinting modelling. This table contains sediment sample information and results of particle size, elemental composition, and fallout radionuclide analyses. Any use of trade, firm, or product names is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by the U.S. Government. First posted - October 18, 2023 (available from author). Revised - March 28, 2024 (version 2.0). This data release has been revised to include data from samples collected in 2023 that were not published in version 1.0.

This data release includes data created, collected, and/or otherwise modified in the process of quantifying a sediment budget for the Smith Creek Watershed near New Market, Virginia, USA. Five raster files are included, namely a modeled index of hydrological connectivity, a raster model of modeled floodplain depositional masses and extent, a rasters of modeled gross and delivered upland erosion, and a hydrologically conditioned Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Two vector shapefiles are also included. The first documents the results from the stepwise linear regression models developed to estimate erosion attributed to streambeds, streambanks, and floodplains along stream reaches throughout the watershed. The second...

This metadata record documents two comma delimited tables that contain information on fallout radionuclides and urban sediments within Dead Run watershed in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. Measurements include radiological activity for rainwater and sediment samples, sediment particle size information, suspended sediment concentration measurements, elemental composition of sediments, and sediment yields of paved surfaces. First posted - November 13, 2019 (available from author) Revised - March 19, 2020 (version 1.1)

This data release includes data collected in the pursuit of identifying pre- and post-colonial riparian ecosystems found throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. A single raster file is included, and represents a topological classification of the entire county according to a hydrologically conditioned Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Ten shapefiles are also included, nine of which represent the depths of various soil layers as identified by ground-penetrating radar for two detailed study sites within Anne Arundel County. A tenth documents the depths cored at both detailed study sites, and their spatial locations. Finally, twenty comma-delimited tables are included in this release with fifteen tables documenting...
