This data set consists of 19 wideband magnetotelluric (MT) and 23 transient electromagnetic (TEM) soundings collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in June 2020 as part of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Geothermal Resources Assessment: Phase 2 project. Each MT station had 4 components, 2 orthogonal magnetic induction coils and 2 horizontal orthogonal electric dipoles. Data were collected for an average of 18 hours on a repeating schedule of alternating sampling rates of 256 samples/second for 5 hours and 50 minutes and 4096 samples/second for 10 minutes. The schedules were set such that each station was recording the same schedule to allow for remote reference processing. Data were processed with a bounded-influence...

This dataset includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 2007 in and near the San Luis Valley, Colorado. The U.S. Geological Survey conducted a series of multidisciplinary studies, including MT surveys, in the San Luis Valley to improve understanding of the hydrogeology of the Santa Fe Group and the nature of the sedimentary deposits comprising the principal groundwater aquifers of the Rio Grande rift. The shallow unconfined and the deeper confined Santa Fe Group aquifers in the San Luis Basin are the main sources of municipal water for the region. The population of the San Luis Valley region is growing rapidly and water shortfalls could have serious consequences. Future growth and land management...

This dataset includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 1989 across the Idaho Batholith, Payette National Forest, Idaho, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The primary focus is on geologic elements that relate to the Late Cretaceous Idaho batholith geometry and the development of the Yellow Pine mining district and Stibnite mining area. Twenty MT soundings along one 110-km long profile were acquired during the time period of July 19-27, 1989. This study was funded by the U.S. Geological Survey's Mineral Resources Program in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service.

The Republic survey consists of high-resolution aeromagnetic and radiometric data designed to image the subsurface geology and structure of a large portion of northeastern Washington. These data are intended for rigorous modeling and interpretation of the geology and structure in this region and will be used to evaluate the potential for undiscovered resources and will contribute to USGS and Washington DNR-related mineral and geothermal resource assessments of the region. This release includes aeromagnetic and aeroradiometric data collected via low-altitude helicopter flown over northeastern Washington State, centered over the town of Republic, Washington. The data were acquired between September 26, 2022 and August...

Airborne geophysical surveys were conducted in the eastern Adirondacks from Dec. 7, 2015 - Dec. 21, 2015, by Goldak Airborne Surveys. The area was flown along a draped surface with a nominal survey height above ground of 200 meters. The flight line spacing was 250 meters for traverse lines and 2500 meters for control lines. Here we present downloadable magnetic data from those surveys as flight line data (csv format) or Geotiff images. Line data (EAdirondacksMag.csv) are presented as comma separated values with the following definitions (see technical report for details): LINE: Flight line number DATE: YYYY/MM/DD TIME: Time (UTM, 24-hour) hh:mm:ss LONG: Longitude, WGS84 (degrees) LAT: Latitude WGS84 (degrees)...

On September 25, 1998, SIAL Géosciences Inc. (SIAL) was awarded Department of Interior, contract 98CRCN1018, by the U.S. Geological Survey. This contract required SIAL to carry out a high-sensitivity magnetic and electromagnetic helicopter survey over one block located in the Eureka Graben Area near Silverton, Colorado. The primary goal of this project was to provide digitally recorded and processed magnetic and electromagnetic data in order to evaluate geologic and hydrologic resources of the Eureka Graben Area. The base of on-site field operations was Silverton, Colorado. The survey was carried out by SIAL between May 27th and June 9th, 1999. This report describes the survey parameters, data acquisition and processing...

This data release includes the airborne magnetic survey data collected from the Manchester region of Iowa. The Mineral Resources Program of the U.S. Geological Survey is tasked with understanding the nation's mineral resources. Precambrian rocks concealed under Paleozoic sedimentary rocks in northeast Iowa are poorly mapped and understood. Detailed high-resolution airborne magnetic surveys, ground gravity surveys, and limited borehole data are being used to better understand the lithology and structure of concealed Precambrian rocks. The primary goal of the airborne magnetic survey is to map lateral variations of magnetization that are related to differences in rock type.

The data in this release originate from a low-altitude, aeromagnetic survey of the Centralia and Chehalis area of southwestern Washington. The survey was conducted between September 22 and October 22, 2015, by Eon Geosciences, Inc, working under contract to the U.S. Geological Survey. The covered region extends from the Cascade Range in the east to Willapa Bay in the west, and includes the cities of Chehalis and Centralia, Washington, and a part of Interstate 5. Total magnetic field values were acquired using a fixed-wing aircraft flown at a target elevation of 200 m above terrain. Primary flight lines were oriented east-west and spaced 400 m apart; additional tie lines were oriented north-south and spaced 4000...
This dataset consists of 176 wideband magnetotelluric (MT) stations collected from 2015-2019 across parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) acquired these data as part of regional investigations into the geologic and tectonic framework of the area and to support mineral resource investigations. These data have been used to generate a 3D regional conductivity model of the area. Files included in this publication include measured electric- and magnetic-field time series as well as estimated impedance and vertical-magnetic field transfer functions.

These data have been temporarily taken down. Please contact Benjamin J Drenth (bdrenth@usgs.gov) for more information. This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution magnetic survey over an area of the west-central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The survey was flown in 2008 by Aeroquest under contract to Kennecott Eagle Minerals Company using a fixed-wing aircraft with a magnetometer mounted in a tail stinger. This dataset includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 2003 along a north-south profile west of Wendover, Nevada. It is important to know whether major mining districts in the Northern Nevada Gold Province are underlain by rocks of the Archean Wyoming craton, which are known to contain orogenic gold deposits, or by accreted rocks of the Paleoproterozoic Mojave province. It is also important to know the location and orientation of the Archean/Proterozoic suture zone between these provinces as well as major basement structures within these terranes because they may influence subsequent patterns of sedimentation, deformation, magmatism, and hydrothermal activity. This study was funded by the U.S....
