Near-surface site characteristics are critical for accurately modeling ground motion, which in turn influences seismic hazard analysis and design of critical infrastructure. Currently, there are many strong motion accelerometers within the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) that are missing this information. We use a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based framework to intersect the site coordinates of approximately 5,500 ANSS accelerometers located throughout the United States and its territories with geology and velocity information. The 2018 KÄ«lauea eruption and caldera collapse generated intense cycles of seismicity tied to repeated large seismic (Mw ~5) collapse events associated with magma withdrawal from beneath the summit. To gain insight into the underlying dynamics and aid eruption response, we applied waveform-based earthquake detection and double-difference location as the eruption unfolded. Here, we augment these rapid results by grouping events based on patterns of correlation-derived phase polarities across the network. The U.S. Geological Survey acquired high-resolution P- and S-wave seismic data across the Frijoles Fault strand of the San Gregorio Fault Zone (SGFZ) at northern Año Nuevo, California in 2012. The data for this release is an ASCII file containing grid points of Cascadia P- and S-wave velocity models. The model volume was developed to include the Cascadia subduction zone for purposes of ground motion simulation. The description of the model and background of its development is provided in the associated Open-File Report. This dataset provides supporting evidence for a method of generating geometrically accurate orthophoto mosaics of paleoseismic trenches using physical scale bars printed with coded targets. The U.S. Geological Survey acquired high-resolution P- and S-wave seismic data across the Frijoles Fault strand of the San Gregorio Fault Zone (SGFZ) at Año Nuevo, California in 2012. The SGFZ is a Holocene-active, dominantly right-lateral fault system that trends more than 200 km along the California coastline. The Frijoles Fault is one of several onshore strands of the SGF system, and together the strands represent a 3- to 4-km wide fault zone at Año Nuevo. This Data Release consists of broadband ground motion simulations for 12 California region earthquakes. The ground motion simulations were done as part of a validation study that is described in more detail in Graves (2022). These simulations were computed using a hybrid simulation methodology (hereafter referred to as GP). The earthquake catalog was generated in August 2018 using the standard National Seismic Hazard Model methodology (Mueller, 2019) for the central and eastern United States. Pre-existing catalogs were merged, duplicate records were removed, the catalog was declustered, and induced earthquakes were removed. The final catalog contains 6802 records, M2.5–7.8, and extends from 1568 through July 2018.
