This is a test metadata collection record. This is only a test. This is more text to see if updating works. This is even more text that means nothing to see if further updating still works.

Collection includes cores extracted during drilling operations including the U.S. Geological Survey for the purposes of site investigations in the Meddybemps township. Please contact the Maine Geological Survey to discuss access to the collection.
This is a collection of rock cuttings, which are washed or unwashed, housed in the Bureau of Economic Geology’s Core Research Centers.
This is a collection of rock cores, which are whole or slabbed, housed in the Bureau of Economic Geology’s Core Research Centers.
This is a collection of thin sections, primarily from rock cores, housed in the Bureau of Economic Geology’s Core Research Centers.

The 3002’ length core was extracted from the Redstone Quarry in Conway, NH in 1975 as part of an evaluation of geothermal potential produced by the natural decay of several radioactive minerals present in the Jurassic age Conway Granite pluton. The core extracted from the borehole at the Redstone Quarry is the deepest core drilled in New Hampshire. The Redstone Core project was part of a collaboration between the New Hampshire State Geologist and the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration. Significant geothermal resources were not found. NHGS estimates that approximately half of the original 3002’ foot core remains in core boxes with sufficient documentation tags to identify the depth intervals each...

Collection includes rock cores extracted during drilling operations for Getty - Mount Chase base metal exploration. Please contact the Maine Geological Survey to discuss access to the collection.
Collection includes cores extracted over decades by mineral exploration firms as they completed their Maine work or otherwise released their data, covering both public and private lands that were the subject of mineral exploration. These records represent the best public collection of the major mineral exploration efforts of the 1960s-1980s. This collection of 595 scanned core records is accessible through a Google Earth application. Please contact the Maine Geological Survey to discuss access to the collection.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Arkansas Geological Survey (AGS), has gathered available geophysical logs and related data from the USGS office archives in Arkansas and Tennessee as a basis for developing a hydrogeologic framework for the Southeast region of the United States. Similar efforts were undertaken by the Mississippi Embayment Regional Aquifer Study (MERAS) and the Regional Aquifer-System Analysis (RASA) Program. The logs compiled for these older efforts were difficult to access from the paper files; however, and partly because of this, older and newer logs were compiled into a single digital database for the current study.

This is another boring, stock description for demonstration purposes only. Do not quote this abstract. If this were an actual collection, it would have better info here.

The rock core documents in this collection were collected by the the Kentucky Geological Survey when a rock core or other sample was turned into Earth Analysis Research Library. These documents were scanned with funding from the 2022 USGS Data Preservation Program. The scanned documents in this collection provide important information, including lithologic descriptions, geochemical analysis, project details, and related publications.

This collection consists of Western Interior Upper Cretaceous ammonites and Inoceramids fossils with stratigraphic and spatial data largely from the Rocky Mountain region of North America. Data is primarily type fossils from the USGS Denver Mesozoic Invertebrate Catalog created and maintained by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) that as of March 2020 has been transferred to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Samples collected by paleontologist William A. Cobban during his sixty years of service within the USGS Paleontology And Stratigraphy Branch and Geologic Mapping Team. Approximately 14,595 fossil localities are represented in this collection. In a career that spanned almost 75 years, Cobban fundamentally...
This is a collection of core reports, primarily from rock cores within the Bureau of Economic Geology.

Collection includes mineral exploration cores originally obtained by the U.S. Bureau of Mines. Exploration for base metals, Mn-slate, alkaline earth elements was conducted. Cores were obtained from the following locations in Maine: Albany, Blue Hill, Brooksville, Buckfield, Hammond, Newry, Spencer Lake, TDR2, T9R3. Please contact the Maine Geological Survey to discuss access to the collection.

Dataset contains point data describing the results of 1-channel and 12-channel seismic refraction studies mapped at a scale of 1:24,000, from the Maine Geological Survey. The results include the depth to the water and depth to the bedrock. Links are also provided, when available, to the profile graphs for the seismic line.
