This data set consists of the results of the statistical analysis (Asquith and others, 2020) of the remaining 10,295 water level records that met specific criteria to ensure that the water level records were representative of true groundwater conditions in the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer. The data are provided in a CSV file named StatisticalAnalysis.csv, and in the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) shapefile format consisting of a group of files that have been compressed into a zip archive named StatisticalAnalysis.zip.

This dataset includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 2005 along an east-west profile north of Wells, Nevada. It is important to know whether major mining districts in the Northern Nevada Gold Province are underlain by rocks of the Archean Wyoming craton, which are known to contain orogenic gold deposits, or by accreted rocks of the Paleoproterozoic Mojave province. It is also important to know the location and orientation of the Archean/Proterozoic suture zone between these provinces as well as major basement structures within these terranes because they may influence subsequent patterns of sedimentation, deformation, magmatism, and hydrothermal activity. This study was funded by the U.S. Geological...

This dataset contains the original water level records extracted from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ (MoDNR) Well Information Management System (WIMS). It consists of records of wells drilled in or through the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer in a 7-county area in southeast Missouri as reported by the well drillers. Records that met specific criteria were identified and used for further statistical analysis to ensure that a particular well was open to the aquifer. Records that did not meet the selected criteria were identified and noted in the dataset with the identifier of "Threshold 1" through “Threshold 6”, which are fully explained in the metadata. Each original record can be found in...

This dataset contains the final water level records (10,132) that meet all threshold criteria and had an absolute residual less than 20 feet. The threshold of 20 feet was selected based on water level changes of the U.S. Geological Survey groundwater site 363551090152801 (Qulin) in the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer. The data are provided in a CSV file named FinalDataset.csv, and in the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) shapefile format consisting of a group of files that have been compressed into a zip archive named FinalDataset.zip.

The Area 7 mule deer population is one of the state’s largest deer herds with an estimated population of about 11,000 in 2019. This deer herd is highly important to Nevada from an economic and ecological perspective. It’s one of the longest distance deer migrations in the state of Nevada with some animals known to migrate over 120 miles during a single migration. A subset of this population, known as the “Pequop” herd, crosses a major highway (US highway 93) and an interstate (Interstate-80) twice annually during their seasonal migration. Several million dollars in wildlife crossing structures have been constructed to help these deer during their migration, yet they still face challenges to connectivity between...

This dataset contains the final water-level records (334) that met all threshold criteria and had an absolute residual (ABS_PSEUDO_LEV) of less than 20 feet. The threshold of 20 feet was selected based on water-level changes of the U.S. Geological Survey groundwater site 363551090152801 Qulin, in the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer. This final dataset is considered a best representation of the true water-levels in the aquifer.

This is a combined dataset from the USGS Orphaned Well Dataset (Grove and Merrill, 2022) and publicly available data from the USGS National Water Information System, NWIS, obtained via the Water Quality Portal using the USGS Python dataretrieval library. This dataset is composed of water quality measurements from groundwater sites located within 1 mile of the locations of unplugged orphaned wells listed in the United States Documented Unplugged Orphaned Oil and Gas Well Dataset. This dataset contains measurements of common water quality parameter (pH, temperature, specific conductance, TDS), dissolved light hydrocarbons and their isotopes (Methane, δ13C in methane, δ2H in methane, ethane, δ13C in ethane, propane,...

This dataset represents the producing, dry holes, wildcat wells and wells that have other well type categories other than the ones mentioned previously in Louisiana. These wells were used to create gas and oil field polygons. The field polygons include discovery data, number of producing wells in the field, average measured depth of those well, total gas and oil production from 1977-2014, gas oil ratio (GOR), and field type. Also, included is a table with historic gas and oil production from 1977-2014.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is providing a point feature class containing a compilation of geologic well records (n=221) obtained from: 1) previous U.S. Geological Survey groundwater investigations, 2) the U.S. Geological Survey's National Water Information System (NWIS), 3) the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Water Well Contractor Program, and 4) the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT). The wells are located within the Binghamton East 1:24,000 quadrangle of south-central Broome County, New York, 2014-2020. The shapefile was created and intended for use with geographic information system (GIS) software. A companion report, USGS Scientific Investigations Report...

In 2011, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Town of Newfield and the Tompkins County Planning Department, began a study of the stratified-drift aquifers in the West Branch Cayuga Inlet and Fish Kill valleys in the Town of Newfield, Tompkins County, New York. The objective of this study was to characterize the hydrogeology and water quality of the stratified-drift aquifers in the West Branch Cayuga Inlet and Fish Kill valleys and produce a summary report of the findings. This dataset contains the well records compiled for this study in West Branch Cayuga Inlet and Fish Kill Valleys, Newfield, Tompkins County, New York.

The U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Tug Hill Commission, the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Tug Hill Land Trust studied the northern and central parts of the Tug Hill glacial aquifer to help communities make sound decisions about the groundwater resource. This child item dataset contains selected well records compiled for the northern and central parts of the Tug Hill aquifer.
