The Bureau of Land Management's National Invasive Species Information Management System (NISIMS) is designed to collect field data and store it in a standard database to allow for data sharing and reporting at the local, state and national levels. At this time, the system reports and tracks weed infestations only, Future versions of the system will report and track infestations by all taxa including weeds, birds, fish, and algae. The system also reports and tracks treatments of these invasive weed species infestations on public lands. The tools are based on the use of the BLM system of Enterprise Geographic Information System (EGIS) Architecture approved nationally in 2003. It also depends on the Geospatial Services...

Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) concentrations were measured in the lower Ottawa River in 2009 before dredging and after dredging in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015. Media collected for analysis included sediment, water, macroinvertebrates, and tetragnathid spiders at 18 stations. At each station 16 surface sediment core samples (top 15 cm) were collected and composited together with a mechanical mixer to achieve a homogeneous composite sample. Mid-depth water column samples were collected using a Van Dorn, Niskin or similar type sampler. Artificial substrate samplers (Hester Dendys) were used to collect aquatic macroinvertebrates. Riparian spiders (family Tetragnathidae) were collected from their webs by gloved hand...

Data included in this data set are for trap net captured juvenile suckers from Upper Klamath Lake, Oregon starting in 2001. Data were collected on fishing effort, the number of suckers captured, sucker length, and sucker species. There are two levels of data. Net level data contains 14,838 records and the data file is 2,069 KB and fish level data contains 25,236 records and the data file is 1,543 KB. The two files can be linked on SampleID and DatePulled, which is unique to each net set. Data files are comma delimited.

In general, ChesMMAP is fishery-independent monitoring survey that uses a large-mesh bottom trawl to sample late juvenile-to-adult fishes in the mainstem of Chesapeake Bay. This program currently provides data on relative abundance, length, weight, sex ratio, maturity, age, and trophic interactions for several important fish species that inhabit the bay seasonally.

This dataset is one of a collection of three land cover maps of the Willamette Valley of Oregon, USA, depicting 4 habitat classes: wet with <= 50% vegetation cover (class 1), wet with >50% vegetation (class 2), dry with <= 50% vegetation (class 3), dry with >50% vegetation (class 4). Land cover maps were derived by classifying signatures from C-band (5.6 cm wavelength), HH-polarized radar remote sensing (RADARSAT) data collected at a 38 degree incidence angle (8-m resolution). The data are in the form of an ERDAS Imagine image.

This dataset contains data from an ongoing trapping effort beginning in 2019 targeting alligator snapping turtles (Macrochelys temminckii) in the Atchafalaya Basin of south-central Louisiana.
Egg mat retention trials were conducted with walleye (Stizostedion vitreum) and lake whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis) eggs in an experimental flume tank, seeded directly on egg mats (test retention efficiency) and hand dispersed in flowing flume water to simulate spawning over egg mats (test capture efficiency) with and without alternate substrate. In the field study, we measured number of eggs collected on mats and with bottom drift nets in the Detroit River to compare capture effectiveness. The field collection data describe the number, date of collection, and exact collection location of target species (walleye and lake whitefish). The flume trial data include number of eggs retained or collected, water velocity,...

This dataset consists of survey data, plots, photos, and a photo index from a cross section survey of the Eklutna River at the Glenn Highway bridge in Alaska. The cross sections were surveyed in 2016 and 2017 using a total station, then adjusted to match datums for a Municipality of Anchorage orthophoto and Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities bridge as-built elevations.

This dataset is a static view of available data from the Pacific Northwest Aquatic Monitoring Partnership (PNAMP) Monitoring Site Manager on 201412. The Monitoring Site Manager describes locations of data collection events for various aquatic monitoring programs in the Pacific Northwest. It includes locations for the US Forest Service Aquatic and Riparian Effectiveness Monitoring Program (AREMP), Bonneville Power Administration’s Columbia Habitat Monitoring Program (CHaMP), Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s (ODEQ) Ambient Water Quality Monitoring Program, the National Rivers and Streams Assessment (NRSA) in Oregon, the US Forest Service PACFISH/INFISH Biological Opinion Effectiveness Monitoring Program...

This dataset includes location, field measurements, and descriptions of 330 Uma inornata sampled for the research study entitled “Sampling Across 20 Years (1996–2017) Reveals Loss of Diversity and Genetic Connectivity in the Coachella Valley Fringe-Toed Lizard (Uma inornata)”. Field sampling occurred between March and September of 2017 and between April and June of 2018. Lizards were located by visually searching dune habitat in all major populations. Sites included Windy Point, Willow Hole, Train Station, Whitewater, and the South Coachella Valley Preserve. In addition, satellite populations in the Indio Hills and individuals salvaged from Section 24 and translocated to Stebbin’s Dune were also sampled. Lizards...

Among threats to the sagebrush ecosystem in the Great Basin and elsewhere (BLM 1999, 2002; Nachlinger et al. 2001; Wisdom et al. 2003) is the threat of displacement of native habitats by cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum). Mapping these threats in the sagebrush ecosystem will allow managers to identify areas of native vegetation at high risk of displacement, where active restoration may be required, versus areas at low risk, where conservation of existing habitats may be preferable. A draft model of risk of displacement of sagebrush and other native vegetation cover types by cheatgrass was applied to the 14 ecological provinces that intersect the Great Basin. The model was applied to sagebrush cover and other vegetation...
