Statistical analyses and maps representing mean, high, and low water-level conditions in the surface water and groundwater of Miami-Dade County were made by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, to help inform decisions necessary for urban planning and development. Sixteen maps were created that show contours of (1) the mean of daily water levels at each site during October and May for the 2000-2009 water years; (2) the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles of the daily water levels at each site during October and May and for all months during 2000-2009; and (3) the differences between mean October and May water levels, as well as the differences...

The data set consists of marine seismic-reflection data that includes 34 SEGY data files, navigation data and a CSV format file with a list of files. The archived SEGY files, navigation files, and detailed metadata for these seismic reflections can also be downloaded from the National Archive of Marine Seismic Surveys (NAMSS). https://walrus.wr.usgs.gov/namss//survey/B-1-13-FL/ Marine seismic-reflection data were acquired in canals in eastern Broward County at two different times: February 2010 and April-June 2013, resulting in 34 SEGY data files.

Synthetic seismograms provide a means to calibrate (groundtruth) seismic-reflection profiles to specific subsurface stratigraphic features observed in one-dimensional core and geophysical log data acquired from wells. Independently, Walker Marine Geophysical Company and Geokinetics Incorporated used velocity data from 14 borehole-compensated sonic logs as input for specialized geophysical software to generate 14 synthetic seismograms. Velocity data from the sonic logs were converted to a synthetic seismic trace using synthetic-seismogram production software, reproduced either 5 or 8 times, and placed side-by-side to resemble a seismic-reflection profile. For each well, the synthetic seismogram was used to relate...

A detailed inventory of irrigated crop acreage is not available at the level of resolution needed to accurately estimate agricultural water-use or to project future water demands in many Florida counties. A detailed summary table of irrigated acreage for the 2016 growing season was developed for Okaloosa County by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and includes totals of acreage by irrigation system. It also provides a comparison between published acreage totals for previous years by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Census of Agriculture and those determined from the 2016 inventory. The irrigated acreage estimated by the USGS for the2016 inventory was 351 acres.

Excel table providing the daily water level data from the National Park Service, Everglades National Park, the South Florida Water Management District, and the U.S. Geological Survey during 1974-2009 prior to editing. [All data are in the original vertical datum provided by the collecting organizations (see row titled "Datum"). Data were retrieved from the databases of the National Park Service - Everglades National Park, South Florida Water Management District, and U.S. Geological Survey in July and August 2012. The row titled "Notes" describes the subsequent changes that were made during editing in 2012, such as the elimination of redundant or unusable site files and merging of datasets collected at the same site....
