This data release contains cyanotoxin concentrations for microcystins, cylindrospermopsins, anatoxins, and saxitoxins assessed using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) on 363 samples collected from 82 surface-water sites located in the Cascade Range in Oregon, and eight sites located outside of the Oregon Cascade Range in Washington and California, during 2016-2020. Three sample types were assessed: 1) benthic colonies and mats of cyanobacteria (n=109), 2) plankton net tows (n=90), and 3) Solid Phase Adsorption Toxin Tracking samplers (SPATTs)(n=164).

The U.S. Geological Survey acquired hyperspectral image data and various field measurements from a reach of the Deschutes River near Bend, OR, between Benham Falls and Dillon Falls July 26-29, 2016, to support research on remote sensing of river discharge. This parent data release includes links to child pages for the following data sets: 1) hyperspectral image data; 2) ground-based bathymetric survey data obtained with a multi-beam echo sounder; 3) reflectance spectra and depth measurements acquired from a raft; and 4) an irradiance profile used to characterize attenuation of light by the water column. Please refer to the individual child pages for further detail about each data set. Overall, these data were...

Water-surface elevations were recorded by 17 submerged water level loggers between March and October, 2016 along a 3 kilometer reach of the upper Deschutes River, Oregon. 15 water level loggers were installed along the channel margins and 2 loggers were placed in off-channel wetland ponds. Submerged depths recorded at each logger were converted to water surface elevations using real-time kinematic global positioning system (RTK-GPS) measurements of water surface elevation near each water level logger location. Water surface elevation recorded at the loggers captured discharges ranging from approximately 600 to over 2,000 cubic feet/second recorded at the Bureau of Reclamation gage at Benham Falls.

Field spectra were collected from the Deschutes River near Bend, OR, July 26-28, 2016, to support research on remote sensing of river discharge. Reflectance measurements were made from a raft in the reach of the Deschutes River between Benham Falls and Dillon Falls using an Analytical Spectral Devices FieldSpec3 spectroradiometer operated in reflectance mode. The depth at each spectral measurement location was interpolated from field measurements of depth obtained with an echo sounder. This data release provides both the reflectance spectra and the interpolated depths and can be used to develop relationships between depth and reflectance for mapping river bathymetry from field spectra or passive optical remotely...

A vertical profile of downwelling spectral irradiance at different depths within the water column was measured on the Deschutes River near Bend, OR, July 28, 2016, to support research on remote sensing of river discharge. Downwelling spectral irradiance data were collected using an Analytical Spectral Devices FieldSpec3 spectroradiometer operated in irradiance mode and deployed from a customized measurement crane. The measurements were made near a boat launch downstream of Benham Falls. In addition, the depth at which each downwelling spectral irradiance measurement was made was obtained using an Onset Hobo pressure transducer mounted next to the spectroradiometer foreoptic on the crane. This data release provides...

Hyperspectral image data from the Deschutes River near Bend, OR, were acquired on July 26, 2016 to support research on remote sensing of rivers, particularly retrieval of water depth, and to facilitate efforts to characterize habitat for amphibians, primarily the Oregon Spotted Frog (Rana pretiosa). These data were collected by the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) 1500H manufactured by ITRES Research Limited. The contractor Quantum Spatial Inc. conducted the flight and ITRES performed the initial radiometric and geometric data processing. The data were acquired from fixed wing aircraft and have a spatial resolution (pixel sizes) from 0.5 m. The data set consists of 42 spectral bands spanning the visible...

The U.S. Geological Survey conducted a bathymetric survey of a reach of the Deschutes River near Bend, OR, between Benham Falls and Dillon Falls on July 25, 2016, to support research on remote sensing of river discharge and characterization of habitat for amphibians, particularly the Oregon Spotted Frog (Rana pretiosa). The bathymetric survey data were obtained with an ITER Systems Bathyswath-1 468 kHz multi-beam echo sounder deployed from a customized research cataraft. The Bathyswath Swath Processor software package was used to acquire the raw data, which then were post-processed, filtered, and gridded using the Bathyswath Grid Processor program. The final output file included in this data release consists of...
We used radio-telemetry to study late-season movement and habitat use by Oregon spotted frogs (Rana pretiosa) at Crane Prairie Reservoir in Oregon. This dataset includes individual frog location data and habitat use during each tracking event that occurred roughly weekly between September and late November of 2018.

This dataset represents a variety of scientific measurements of basalt rock outcrops in central Oregon, United States. It consists of field observations, geochemical measurements, paleomagnetic directional measurements, magnetic susceptibility, and geochronology data (Ar-Ar methodology). This dataset was collected from 2014-2022 by the authors.

We used radio-telemetry to study late-season movement and habitat use by the Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) at 9 sites from 4 populations along the Cascade Mountains in Oregon. This dataset includes individual frog morphometrics, location data, and habitat use during each tracking event that occurred roughly weekly between September and January of 2011, 2012, and 2016.
