This page contains links to images of the Public Land Survey System for Wyoming. This information consists of images of all available survey plats for the entire state and approximately 30,000 pages of field notes. The plats are organized by county and then by township and range. The remaining 570,00 pages of field notes are in bound volumes and will not be available for quite some time. Additionally we have now posted all the available images for the Mineral and HES surveys.

The UW.Encumbrances_to_UW feature class contains spatial information for encumbrances that have been granted to UW by other landholders. Relates, relationship classes, and joins between this feature class and other tables and feature classes can be identified by viewing the database schema enclosure. Enclosures can be located by clicking on the metadata properties icon.
US Census 2000 State of Wyoming Boundary
2000 Census blocks were analgamated and then joined to 2000 census demographics. All files were downloaded from the ESRI website: http://www.esri.com/data/download/census2000_tigerline/index.html. The original shapefile was reprojected from GCS_1983 to UTM_NAD 83 Zone 13N so that each census block's area could be calculated in square meters. A formula from the ArcMap Help was used in each census block's area calculation. Square meters were convereted to square miles, and finally people per square mile was computed.

ZCTAs are aggregations of census blocks that have the same predominant ZIP Code associated with the addresses in the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File (MAF). Three-digit ZCTA codes are applied to large contiguous areas for which the U.S. Census Bureau does not have five-digit ZIP Code information in its MAF. ZCTAs do not precisely depict ZIP Code delivery areas, and do not include all ZIP Codes used for mail delivery. This dataset contains information on the boundaries, quadrangle names, and most recent revision and publication date of the source topographic maps by the USGS for their 1:250,000-scale series for Wyoming.

The Land Survey Information System (LSIS) website contains a collection of geographic information from the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB), representing the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) of the United States. The Land Survey information is available to download free of charge. The GCDB grid is computed from BLM survey records (official plats and field notes), local survey records, and geodetic control information.
