Accelerometer scour monitors were deployed on the Sauk River, Washington during Water Year 2018 as part of a study on the timing of streambed scour in salmon-spawning habitat. This data release contains data of the three-dimensional orientation recorded at 15-minute intervals for the accelerometer monitors. Each accelerometer scour monitor was comprised of one to two individual accelerometers that were deployed in a vertical profile within the streambed. Thirty-one accelerometer scour monitors were deployed, but 7 accelerometer accelerometer scour monitors were recovered. This data release contains the geospatial information about the 31 accelerometer scour monitors that were deployed and three-dimensional orientation...

Bulk samples of streambed sediment were collected from two reaches of the lower Merced River in California's Central Valley to support research intended to evaluate the extent to which large-scale restoration projects provided improved salmon spawning habitat. A related goal of this study was to improve our understanding of the geomorphic factors influencing spawning site selection by salmon. The bulk samples were acquired during the summer of 2016 at the Merced River Ranch and Robinson Reach field sites using a McNeil sampler [McNeil and Ahnell, 1964]. Before collecting each sample, the surface layer was removed to avoid including surface grains as part of the sample. Surface material was scraped off to a depth...

This metadata record documents 2 comma delimited tables representing output from the Chesapeake Bay Program Phase 5.3.2 Watershed Model. The effect of best management practices (BMP) in 2014 in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed (CBWS) is estimated through a series of model scenarios that isolate the effect of individual BMPs. Data include a table describing the series of isolation scenarios and the summarized output of all scenarios. Scenario output include the estimated nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment mass reductions for each BMP. Analysis of BMP implementation over time can provide insight to water quality restoration progress.

These data present suspended particle size distributions collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center within two embayments of San Francisco Bay. Data were collected at one site in San Pablo Bay and one site in Grizzly Bay from June through August 2019, by deploying a Sequoia Scientific Laser In-situ Scattering and Transmissometry instrument (LISST 100x) from a small vessel near pre-established USGS instrument moorings. At both sites, data were collected on six dates at three depths, generally near the water surface, at mid depth, and near the sediment bed, for 1-3 minutes at each depth. LISST volume concentrations are most accurate when the optical percent transmission...
