Purpose

The original data were collected to estimate the abundance of grizzly bears in the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem, Montana, USA (Kendall et al. 2009, https://doi.org/10.2193/2008-330). A subset of this dataset was later used to estimate the density of American black bears in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA (Stetz et al. 2014, https://doi.org/10.1002/wsb.356).
