Global Geochemical Database for Critical Minerals in Archived Mine Samples The Critical Minerals in Archived Mine Samples Database (CMDB) contains chemistry and geologic information for historic ore and ore-related rock samples from mineral deposits in the United States. In addition, the database contains samples from archetypal deposits from 27 other countries in North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. The included projects were extracted from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Fisheries Information Structure (FIS) on July 2013. Project centerpoints were verified and corrected as needed by Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission staff where data were available by comparing location descriptions in the project attributes with satellite imagery. The earlier reports were compilations divided by regions of the United States; in each report the data were provided in spreadsheet format. This data release combines the regional datasets into a single compilation for the entire conterminous United States, and includes shapefiles and spreadsheet formats.
